Ed introduces the show with "we've been here once...a long long time ago". I think he could say that again if PJ ever go back to Scotland. Sometimes opens for the third show in a row. Average plays of Breakerfall, Corduroy & Hail Hail follow. It might be the mix quality of the boot but I'm not really digging Animal, Dissident or Grievance here. There's a bit of crowd trouble during Given To Fly, Ed asking is everyone ok while the band continues to play. Once Ed knows everyone is fine he goes to pick up where he left off vocally but admits he has lost track but recovers. It's certainly not a negative on the performance. For the first time on the tour Daughter is tagless. Habit is good, Better Man is pretty loose at times. Present Tense makes it's first appearance since West Palm Beach II '98 and is awesome, just a few bum notes going into the instrumental part and near the end also. State Of Love And Trust & Rearviewmirror end the main set on a good note.
Brain Of J awesomely opens the first encore and is followed by it's Yield buddy, Do The Evolution. Light Years is excellent and signals a slow down in pace, this is backed up with Small Town and Last Kiss. Once completes a good encore; one that on paper I didn't think would be that good.
Ed comes back out with a ukulele, signalling Soon Forget. It's fair to say the version in London was better. Yellow Ledbetter closes out the show.
A bit of a low-key boot I felt.

Cincinnati from last night! You've gotta love a band that allows the fans to record thier shows! Yes, it's a crappy MP3 copy with lots of crowd noise, but it'll do until the official boots are made available. Also, The Gorge 05 - 06, & Seattle 12/06/13.

My first ever PJ show Of The Girl opens here, for the second time on the tour. The relative quietness of the opener is shattered by a fiery Breakerfall and Grievance. Corduroy is the first non-Binaural song of the night. Ed greets the crowd with the line "There's fucking Manchesterians everywhere" which brings great humour to the locals as we're know as Mancunians. A flawless Light Years follows. After Go, Ed tells the crowd he and Stone just had an argument and the next song is 'under protest'; they play Given To Fly. Under protest, it's a excellent performance - Matt's drumming a real highlight. Stone's guitar briefly disappears in the intro to Evacuation which is making it's first appearance since the opening Lisbon show. Stone's guitar work in Even Flow is a joy to hear though he appears absence during Mike's solo. Overall, it's definitely not the cleanest performance of the song you'll ever hear. Daughter is tagless for the second show in succession. Before Wishlist, Ed tells the crowd "we were going to play one by my arch-enemy Stone but we're gonna play this instead". Ed forgets a few lines early on, prompting him to say "at least I know the words to Stone's". I believe it was Thin Air they were supposed to play. Nothingman makes it's first appearance since Mansfield I '98 and is paired with Betterman. Nothingman is sublime. Insignificance doesn't really flow after and Rearviewmirror closes the main set.
At the start of the first encore Ed and Stone joke that they've been fighting backstage, Ed then shouts at someone who throws a beer at Stone - "Was that a beer? A full one? Can I have it?". Last Exit kicks off the encore on a good note. Once is equally as a good and the guys have raised the tempo a few notches early in the encore. There's a few errors by Stone towards the end of Once, which he notes afterwards. Black is very understated, very stripped back. Timeless Melody is aired again and fits quite well in this encore. Stone's guitar again disappears, this time briefly in the intro of State Of Love And Trust. Fuckin' Up closes the encore.
After no second encores in Dublin & Glasgow, the guys come back for one here with Leatherman starting it off and also completing the 'Man Trilogy'. Before the start of Leatherman, Ed tells the crowd they are only going to play rare songs now til the end of the gig. The tempo slows with the introduction of Footsteps but it's perfect. A real highlight. Evolution then picks the tempo up again, Ed dropping in the line "this is Manchester and this is the choir". Ed tells the crowd "we're making it up here. None too quickly. Cos I don't know when we'll be back in England again". They drop Garden for what is the 2nd of out 5 appearances in 2000. It's a really zoned out performance, really cool & mesmerizing. Yellow Ledbetter closes out a good show, complete with errors but good nonetheless.

After missing Manchester, Nothing As It Seems returns to the setlist and only goes and opens the show! It works as an opener it has to be said. There's a slight mistime towards the end of Breakerfall, not huge but noticable. Ed is way too early at the start of God's Dice. Animal is solid, really good. It's nice to hear Red Mosquito in the set. Corduroy/I Got Shit/Alive is a quality run, it's also a nice surprise to see Alive so early in a set! Two of the 'Man Trilogy' are played together, this time Betterman and Leatherman. Pilate makes it's first appearance of the tour and first play since Dallas '98; Stone comments afterwards "I can't believe we got through that! Woohoo!" The tag of WMA on Daughter is excellent, it almost feels like there will be no tag again as Daughter slows to a close and then Ed starts to sing WMA. The tempo of the tag ebbs and flows but it's really cool. Once closes the main set.
Go kicks off the first encore. Ed dedicates Small Town to Cardiff and Wales, going into a story about his time in Cardiff. At the end, with not much crowd reaction, he says maybe it's better to just start a song instead of tell a story!. Immortality has a very stripped back feel to it, it's certainly not as good as the previous plays on the tour. It's Vitalogy buddy, Spin The Black Circle closes the encore.
Surprisingly, Even Flow opens the second encore; Ed introducing it as "I Save Cigarettes For A Poor Girl". There's some great guitar work by Mike and Stone during the instrumental. Smile feels abit rough in parts and Yellow Ledbetter (obviously) closes.
A good if over-rated boot I feel. Interesting is the word I'd use.

Lol! I'd be more than happy to share, once I get it off of my MP3 player & onto my computer (unless it somehow is against policy). PM me. We'll see what we can do. And if it does violate policy, someone let me know. I don't wanna be banned! I love this place!
BTW, just found out that Cincy '14 may be the 4th or 5th longest live performance. Thanks to Lost in Ohio for that bit of trivia.
