Torino 2006. Of course, I have read why this show was so unique but had forgotten. I listened to it today for the first time. My first thoughts were.... If I ever get lucky enough to finally find myself in GA I hope they open with this trio...Go>>Corduroy>>Animal  Wow that was fierce! Then started into life wasted>>WWS>>comatose>>severed hand and I realized... This is THAT show. To hear all of avocado in order on a boot was way cool, especially when I wasn't expecting it. I think they were all played to near perfection too. Blistering DTE and RVM to close out the set. I don't know how Ed had lungs left for Jeremy, lukin, tremor Christ, blood and even flow in the encores. Mixed in nicely were fantastic crowd participation on betterman and alive and another mind blowing 10 min black. Baba and indifference close it up. I'll be listening to this one repeatedly. Can't believe I hadn't heard it until today. One of my favorite things is to hear a bootleg for the first time. Today was an awesome day

Of The Girl opening. Perfect. Instellar Overdrive/Corduroy and Last Exit up the tempo before Love Boat Captain slows it back down. Cropduster gets it's first play on this leg of the tour and is abit ropey early on. Next Ed brings out the ukelele and gets the crowd to sing Happy Birthday to Mike. Even Flow, I Am Mine & Wishlist all follow. Lukin & Grievance are slotted together. Given To Fly & Faithful provide a Yield double-header and Black is superb, especially the latter part of the song. Save You and Spin The Black Circle close out the main set.

I'll carry on with the encores tomorrow....

Listened to the encores this morning. Last Kiss opens the 1st encore, Crazy Mary is good and Ed plays Happy Birthday for Mike again - this time the ukelele punk rock version. I Am A Patriot opens the 2nd encore and is followed by Alive. Yellow Ledbetter is next but unusually doesn't end the show - that is left to Baba O'Riley.

    A good fun boot.

Fox Theater Atlante April 3rd 1994. I can't stop listening to this boot since I saw the charity sale ElwayVedder put up a few days back: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=224188#p5344912

I can't believe someone hasn't jumped on this. These don't come up often and his price is an absolute steal considering a lot of sites sell this for like $75 and this one comes with one of those Sheep/Wolf figures.

Just realized that sounded like a sales pitch. Hahaha...

Great opening sequence - Long Road/Breakerfall/Corduroy/Animal/Save You. The tempo doesn't relent with Given To Fly, Cropduster (sounding awesome) and Even Flow. Small Town and Love Boat Captain give a breather to everyone. Ghost sounds excellent. Ed does a little improv leading into Untitled/MFC. A Riot Act double-header of You Are and 1/2 Full is quality - both songs sounding awesome. After State Of Love And Trust, it's left to Alive to close the main set. Given that nowadays Alive is firmly rooted at the end of a show, it's nice to hear it here in the main set!

Last Exit opens the 1st encore and I Am A Patriot gets another airing. Down is played for the 1st time on this leg of the tour. Ed introduces Glorified G as "we haven't played this for fucking ages". It's the first time Glorified G has been played since Budapest '96. Evolution closes the 1st encore.

The 2nd encore begins with Daughter and Ed does a great call-out with the crowd towards the end and then tags 'Dig Me Out'. As with San Antonio, it is Yellow Ledbetter and Baba O'Riley to end the show. At start of YL, Ed says the crowd has been one of the best of the tour so far.

It was only when I got to the end of this boot that I realised I've missed out Houston, New Orleans and Birmingham. I went off the shows that were on my laptop rather than checking the cds! Need to copy these too my laptop pronto!

Nonethesless, this is a really good boot. Favourite of the tour so far.

Can't Keep opens for the 1st time on this leg of the tour. Grievance again gets the 2nd song slot. Save You, Hail Hail and Even Flow ensure a frantic start. I Am Mine and Thumbing My Way slow the pace ever so briefly. Breath is phenomenal. Immortality is equally awesome, some fantastic guitar work by Mike. Rearviewmirror closes the main show.

It's a short 1st encore, Love Boat Captain kicking it off and sounding fantastic. Betterman doesn't disappoint and neither does Black. Go closes the 1st encore.

The 2nd encore begins with Soon Forget. For the final two songs - Fortunate Son (first time played in the US) and Rockin' In The Free World - the band are joined onstage by Sleater-Kinney. Less said about that, the better.

Solid enough main set - Cropduster, Wishlist, Green Disease, I Am A Patriot, 1/2 Full & Porch my highlights.

Ed starts the 1st encore with his Don't Drive Me improv - after a few hiccups, his guitar is out of tune. Thumbing My Way follows, Small Town & Black keep the encore at a fairly low temp before Evolution & Spin The Black Circle change that.

The 2nd encore is made up entirely of covers, something which I find a little disappointing. Ed comes out singing a line from Song X (hey ho away we go, we're on the way to never) before the band then launch into Crazy Mary. Know Your Rights is next, being played for the first time in the US. As with the previous gig in Houston, Sleater-Kinney join the band for the last two songs of the night - Fortunate Son and Rockin' In The Free World.
