    New Orleans 2010

Just managed to receive the last of the US tour 2010 collection - love these boots and shows. What a dark horse show and boot this is. Love the set list and is unique for a festival. Love them opening with So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star and then Lukin to follow up, then Corduroy to In My Tree. Love seeing Tremor Christ open the encore and Kick Out The Jams to close the show out. This would definitely be a great festival to attend, even outside PJ. Good boot and definitely underrated. Great way to kick off the 2010 tour.

+1. Always felt this boot was neglected. Beautiful poster too.

2010 is really an impressive year. I am also on a collective mood for 2010 series but with the current rate of postal delivery, I think I will be able to complete by next year.

    MSG 5/20/2010

I am also one of the minority favoring MSG 1 to MSG 2 from 2010. 8-)

Enjoyed this one, had some really good moments - Dissident, Breakerfall, Glorified G, Sleight Of Hand, Jeremy, Satan's Bed (guitar work was great), Low Light and Yellow Ledbetter with a full band tag of Little Wing.

A dark horse of a gig, well worth a listen.

Definitely one of my top 20 boots. Very tight show with one of my favorite setlists. Massively underrated.

Guys, I really value your comments so will prioritize this one, as well. If not for these comments, God knows when I would think to give it a spin to an obscure Switzerland show.

Manchester, UK. 2009. I was at the show so I'm biased but Long Road, Sleight of Hand, Present Tense and a cover of The Real Me speaks for itself.
Happy up here in my tree

    ;) Glad we could help.

The lesser known shows and downplayed setlists tend to be the shows I enjoy the most. Bootlegs are very enjoyable to listen and critique. There's much more to it than merely setlist, which we all focus on to a certain extent but some way more than others.

I was able to listen yesterday the Bern-06 boot till the softer Encore 1 part. Yes, it is tight and impressive.

I have realized the first signs of the band playing it faster and louder, approaching today's style- which causes some complaining in the forum.

And Ed's voice shows signs of cracking, in a few places. He starts the boot weakly with Go, then recovers later but still cracks here and there. I think that is due to his adaption to the newer style playing of the band - faster and louder. I think during 2006-2008, he struggles with his voice, adapting to this new playing style. With 2009, he gets used to it and in 2010, he's at his best, again.

I listened to just first set of the first boot from 2006, but these are my fist impressions. I know I still have some way to go with 2006 boots. I hope I am not very wrong in sharing these first impressions.

You are by no means in the wrong for discussing your first impressions. Your personal opinions are what makes the bootleg discussions interesting. While I mostly agree that Bern is not really Ed's best show ( I believe he had a cold that night), I tend to favor his voice in 06 way more than 08/09. I agree 2010 finds Ed reaching his peak again. 2010 was a great tour in general but especially for Ed. Keep the bootleg impressions coming!

Excellent (and pleasant) start with MFC as the opener. Normal service is then quickly resumed with Last Exit, Animal and Life Wasted. You Are and Sad mid-set are very good, as is Alone and Jeremy at the end of the main set. Alone is a real highlight of the show, a great version. 1st encore starts with Dead Man Walking followed by Man Of The Hour, 2 great songs and then after its the 'Man Trilogy' of Nothingman, Leatherman and Betterman. Actually its the 'Man Pentalogy'!!! Alive ends a great 1st encore.

The 2nd encore doesn't start so well, I don't know if there is monitor or sound problems but neither Bu$hleaguer or Comatose are on form. Given To Fly, RIFTW and Yellow Ledbetter close the show.

Some good moments here but the 2nd encore drops my rating on this show a notch or two down.
