It's sad that at 55 Sting has never really had a chance to have a big run with WWE. His work with Flair back in the late 80's/early 90's was unbelievable.

Yup, closest thing was Vince was gonna use him for 9 months but wcw countered with a 3 year deal back like 10 years ago.

And after Vince bought WCW. He was I think, the only big star who refused to come over.

He left it a little late didn't he? He's older than the Undertaker and Undertakers old.

I like that Jericho and Miz are back. Caught my interest again. Last week when Miz got in Jericho's face about being a movie star and how offended he was Jericho interrupted his return - fuck that was funny, lol.

Don't like the story lines with what's their faces - the Evolution guys and Orton and Kane and all that. I just fast forward it.

So what's the deal with CM Punk? Is he out for good? Is he hurt?

Sting's 55 years old...not sure I'd be excited if he came to WWE now.

Punk is retired, unfortunately. I think his contract is officially up sometime in July so I'm sure he'll have some things to say soon.

I know...he carried the flag for WCW back in the 90s a lot like Bret Hart did for WWF. Then, when he did have the chance, he didn't like the direction of the production.

Overall, it would have been really great to see how things would have played out if he did make the switch.

I think his contract is officially up today. He said on Twitter a few days ago that, "I'm going to start a band, a podcast and a fire...one of those things is true (maybe two)."

Hoping it's a podcast...really would like to hear his point-of-view...although, he seems like the type to play things close-to-the-vest...especially his silence over the past 5-6 months.

Yeah, I saw that tweet. Hoping it's a podcast too. I think his silence the past few months was because he was still under contract....now that it's up, I'm sure Punk will have plenty to say.

I don't know if he'll air all of his grievances or not. He seems like he has closed the wrestling chapter on his life and wants to move on. Time will tell.

Thought it was funny that WWE decided to air his "Best In The World" documentary on Tuesday night...just hours after moving him to the alumni section of their website.

Looking back at how he was used, I'm glad Punk walked out....the product is questionable. Same recycled non-believable storylines. Lots of potential with the talent they have, but they continue to go the same old safe route (with 80's themes).

That's too bad about Punk. Seems like he's retiring at his peak. And then Daniel Bryon kind of took the reigns and now he's out. They seem to be hurting. I think that's part of the reason why they got Jericho and Miz back.

I would to see John Morrison and Jeff Hardy come back. And Ray Mysterio. The matches those guys could put on - especially against each other, was art. Not sure about Hardy, but I know JM and RM wrestled on MNR once and it was like a Wrestlemania match. It was brilliant, really.

Edit: Actually it might have been on Smackdown.

Yeah, they really did misuse Punk over the years. I mean, he did have the over year long championship run which was great. But yeah, it's hard to blame the guy for walking out after putting up with all the bullshit over the years. And the fact that he never was in the main event for Wrestlemania while someone like the Miz has is crazy.

I got ya. Thought maybe you meant top 5 all time in any company which some people (certainly not me...but some) think Sting is.

As an "icon" of wrestling he's probably pretty high on any list, but he's not amazing in the ring and not in the conversation as far a greatest talkers.
