    I couldn't possibly agree more.

My hope is that the venue or cornfield is big enough to accommodate everyone.
Because if it's not, what's the point?

An event like this, PJ20, hopefully it will be more. The one thing I'm questioning is Ticketmaster, who are the main ticket disturber for The Alpine Valley Music Theatre events. If the PJ20 event is held there and Ticketmaster is their source of tickets, it would be madness for 10club to secure more then normal fan club tickets to this event. Ticketmaster would want to secure as much seats for that show as possible and probably half those tickets will go to their sister site, Ticketsnow, who sell them for double, triple + the price. And event like PJ20, there's gonna make ALOT of money made. Which will be bad for 10club & the fans trying to secure fan club ticket's online, if it's only 10-20 percent of tickets of the show amp.

Other then Alpine Valley, is there anything in IL, WI, MI etc.. 'Middle America' that can hold over 20,000 fans that is not run by Ticketmaster?

Yeah its true, some of us are just happy to be in the venue, however a lot of the older 10c member have such a sense of entitlement it does matter to them.

This is hilarious! A comment/leak to confirm a few solid suspicions anyways... then onto DMB, the a Canadian Tour when I'm pretty sure he only mentioned Toronto Film Festival, then arguments/assumptions about how you expect TenClub to handle/not-handle the tickets... hilarious!

    My advice... sit and wait.

Reserved seats & all. Elton John's stage was pretty small. Pearl Jam would have to create something big for something like this.

They get 12 to 20% of the tickets as per the email I got from the 10 Club when I asked them what percentage of tickets they get in the US(when everyone was asking before the MSG shows). It depends on how many the venue allows. For Alpine Valley(using the 12 to 20% rule), that would mean approximately 90% of the seated area. I think it holds between 37,500 and 40,000 and there are around 9,000 seats under the pavillion.

Alot of talk about 10c seating at Alpine.. I brought this up on another thread a while back.

If we had two nights at Alpine... all two day packages would get one night in the pavillion and one night on the lawn. So, 15,000 of the tickets would be sold in that manner. If there was a third night, they could sell 22,500 tickets under this model. This way PJ could maximize the number of people that got atleast one show fairly close.

A lot of talk of 10c ticket allocation and speculation about seats but this is PJ's 20th anniversary gigs, something of a celebration most would agree. I'm pretty sure there'll be a lot more discussion when members fail to get 10c tickets and again in the general sale. Getting any tickets at all is surely all that matters and even if you're stuck back in the toilets at least you'll get to meet plenty of fans during Even Flow.... ;) I can't wait for this to happen and I'll be happy wherever I am because there'll be plenty friends making the most of the same situation. Happy PJ20!!! Etc...

Without Dave Matthews Band touring this summer, there (maybe) three shows at Alpine this year: Jimmy Buffett, 2 nights of phish. I don't think 3 shows is enough to cover operating costs. I know for a fact that Jimmy Buffett has some crazy contract where the venue only takes in a minimal amount of profit, while the rest goes in his pocket. My guess is that Live Nation would be willing to allocate a much larger than usual percentage of tickets to the Ten Club, just so they would have more shows at the venue.

Can anyone tell what the acoustics are like in this Alpine vally venue? I don't like this pavillion that much - does it feel like a kind of open air concert despite the roof and all that?

And I think it would be ok to have one lawn ticket and one for the pavillion if you get a two-day package ... Sounds fair :)
