True, but PJ has better setlists.
This is very very true. The one thing I don't get about FF is that they haven't begun mixing up their set lists yet this far into their career.
I think FF have a much more mainstream fans who aren't necessarily hardcore who wouldn't know b sides and outtakes. I could be wrong though. just from experience, people who seem to be fans of FF are more casual music fans than PJ fans are.

I can understand it... And I feel like Foos have more "hits" that they feel need to be played every night

I saw that too. I also saw the record on amazon.com but not on amazon.ca yet. Hopefully it makes it's way to amazon.ca

I've noticed quite the trend in shipping rates from the US to Canada getting really expensive. It used to be that it was marginally more to ship to Canada than it was to the US (via USPS). Has USPS jacked up their rates so much that it actually costs an arm and leg to ship here?

I don't trade things often but when I do the postage paid on the sticker by an individual person seems drastically lower than what online websites are charging :(

Isn't that the more common way to do it? Bands like Pearl Jam and Springsteen seem to be more like anomalies than the status quo?

I like the Foo Fighters but I find I really like Self-Titled, TCATS, and Wasting Light. The other albums have maybe 2 or 3 tracks I like. Maybe other people feel the same way (the deep cuts aren't as good as other bands deep cuts). Thus they play it safe and stick to the songs people know?

I turned on the radio this morning and Saint Celilia was on. I knew it was the Foos but I didn't recognize the song. Dug it. I'll listen to the rest the EP later

home sick today and listening, sounds great.

Iron Rooster is Old Man by Neil Young though

Funny, was thinking the same exact thing when I was listening this morning!!

But the EP--I dig it! It gets better with more listens, too. Dave's letter makes it even better of a listen. I love when he takes the time to write notes to us fans. Reading it, it seems like this whole process was an absolute blast for them. Just having a great time making music together--and that shows in pretty much all the songs.

Saint Cecilia- at first, I was like 'eh, this sounds like many Foos songs,' but after a few listens, I'm like well shit, this rocks! The 'formula' that works for many Foos songs works for a reason- it's their pocket. They know how to write a good, catchy rock song. And this is a damn good, damn catchy. I can see this being amazing live.

Sean- can't put my finger on why I don't love it, but not my favorite...for some reason kinda a weird song to me?

Savior Breath- hello, Motorhead! that was my first thought. I can see them having a blast recording this. I love it.

Iron Rooster-a song I have to warm up to more...i'd love to know more about the meaning behind it. I feel I'd like it more with some context.

The Neverending Sigh- probably my favorite on the EP. Unique with a riff that had me smile upon hearing it. Cool lyrics, too. Wanting to hear this one live the most. I cant stop listening to this one!

I wonder if the EP vinyl will be offered by Amazon. The $11 price sounds great until you get to the $8 shipping.

really $8? I just ordered a bundle with a shirt and shipping was $5.99
Maybe its location-based. But the cheapest option I had was $8.27.
  • Just found it on Amazon and pre ordered it.

No, they're mostly abandoned songs that never got fully formed, but the recording was all done this year at the small boutique hotel in Texas that the Foos stayed in while doing this year's Austin City Limits festival gigs (on two separate weekends).

Gonan agree with mostly everybody else and say "Neverending Sigh" is the best track on the album. Although "Savior Best" is a close second.

I think they revisted old songs that got left on the cutting floor over the years. They did record them in the hotel though, so I think it's fresh takes on old songs that never made it onto albums.

Good news as well for us Canadians, it's on amazon.ca now:

problem is that it's $14. Hopefully something comes up on black friday deals that I can order it with to avoid shipping charges.

No P,they have a very loyal and devoted fan base.We travel for shows and love the rarities just like PJ.
