the presale for Citi Field was easy, got a seat for 59 in about two minutes.

It took me over 20 minutes to get through for Fenway..... I was stuck in the virtual waiting room while sitting at my desk at work.....

I feel fortunate I got a half decent pair for the Saturday show..... It also reminds me how much I hated a certain F5 system a certain other band used to use. :-\"
Maybe it was easier because I looked for the cheapest seating section as opposed to GA.

No, I had no option for selecting sections or even which night I wanted at first. I immediately got put in the virtual waiting room when I clicked 'find tickets' (which was 10:00 on the button) I sat through that for over 20 minutes..... Once I got through, I was then able to select which night I wanted. I tried for the lawn first, (got denied) then tried for best available (looking for 2 each time). After about my 4th or 5th try for best available, I got a pair in grand stand 27. Not complaining, (I'm just happy I got a pair, don't care where) it just makes me appreciate PJ's lottery system. It's difficult for me to take time from my work day to try to score concert tickets.

My mom called me and was expecting me to go try for tickets.... Do you realize how many people in the biggest city on the east coast will be lining up for this show?! I wish I could try, but I got lucky with the DC Club show; no way I'm getting lucky twice. :))

I second the good luck Irving Plaza people! What a cool venue to see the Foos in!

Also: saw Royal Blood last night, the opener for many of the US dates and they killed it! Two dudes who if you weren't looking, you'd swear was a full five-piece rock band. The music was tight with a lot of crunchy guitar and awesome riffs, and I love the singer's voice. Definitely worth coming early to check out!

The Foo's club shows have been very long affairs......the HBO screening is an hour, and then they usually play for 3 hours! Great night! Good luck to everyone trying for tickets.

If the Foo play for 3 hours at Fenway my wife may never go to another show with me again.

She would prefer a nice 90 minute set after the 3:20+ spectacle we witnessed in Denver in October!

Haha! Fair enough, but when it involves a mini-vacation (like flying from Boston to Denver for 5 days) I would be looking for a new wife if I DIDN'T take her!

I have given her the option of going to the Foo @ Fenway, (it's ten minutes from our house) but I think she will pass, which will probably be best for all parties concerned!

LOL OK, as long as she's a'ight in other ways ;) I used to bring friends who weren't big fans to shows, so I could literally feel your pain while reading your post. Now, I only invite people if I know we're compatible for shows.

You could still take her on mini-vacations, but maybe she can go to the spa while you're at a show! Win-win! :D

It's all good, she's seen PJ with me in Montreal, Brooklyn, Hartford, Wrigley & now Denver, she's been a great sport! (I'm pretty fortunate to have a girl who enables this obsession..... She likes PJ, but not as much as me)

I would pick the first episode just because I like the song the most....Seattle was good. I'm impressed with this series as it is really informative.

I'm trying to get into the Foo Fighters. I own none of their CDs or vinyl. I heard Stacked Actors on Sirius a year or so ago and liked that much more than the stuff on radio.

I just can't get into them for some reason.

My fav Foo Fighters are the first two albums (Foo Fighters, The Colour and the Shape), One By One and Wasting Light. I lost interest in them after the initial excitement, got back into them with One By One, lost interest again until I watched the documentary Back and Forth and then listened to Wasting Light.

I first paid attention to them when I heard acoustic Everlong on Howard Stern. I still get the chills everytime I listen to that version. Dave gets a little theatrical now, but I always remember that performance.

If you want to give it another shot, I would suggest watching Back and Forth. It's probably my favourite music documentary, much better than PJ20. If I hadn't watched that, I don't think I would have been the least bit interested in the Foo Fighters right now.

Loved Seattle, obviously. I think I learned the most from Nashville. I really liked Chicago and DC too.

My favorite scene is from LA when Taylor was freaking out about the guitar solo. I forget the guy's name, but as he's playing it, Taylor is sitting on the couch in the background and just getting his mindblow. I think around the 32 min mark? It was the funniest/coolest thing I have ever seen out of all the episodes.

The Seattle part about Dave's old recordings I thought was really inspirational too. I would love to start writing, and seeing that really makes me think I could give it a good shot and maybe get something halfway decent out of it. :))

  • Thanks....I'll check it out

I love Nirvana and Dave Grohl but something just doesn't do it for me. A lot of the commercial FF songs just seem the same. Although I'm sure FF diehards might say the same thing about Pearl Jam. I don't recall hearing a FF song as sappy as The End or Future Days which make me want to pull my eardrums out.

I've fallen a bit behind on the series, so haven't seen em all yet, but I enjoyed the DC one the most so far. I went to college near DC, so the whole music scene and the evolution of the city fascinates me. I remember during sophomore year, which was rough for me, listening to DC punk for the first time, and reading up about different people and bands, many of whom were featured in the DC episode. Got to learn a lot about go-go too, as my senior year I worked with a photographer who continues to work on a big project interviewing and photographing go-go staples. Beyond that, my first FF show was in DC in 2011, a show that means the world to me, I got to meet Dave in DC last year at a Sound City screening, and finally got to see the show at 9:30 Club (that place means a lot to me) featured in the episode, front row. So that episode was super cool for me to watch. For me, FF and DC are just synonymous.
