nice, RFK is going to be a fun party, I'm sure...but give me an arena show anyday
My thoughts exactly, except with Wrigley. Gonna be an amazing experience, but a classic arena show will be nice to have, too! Can't wait til Tuesday!

It's a good album, but it's not great. Maybe the excellent TV show got my expectations up a little too high but as a standalone album you don't really get the references and influences, and it sounds like most other Foo Fighters records. Don't get me wrong, that's not a bad thing, it just feels a little underwhelming (especially after Wasting Light). The first 3.5 songs are really good, and I reckon Dave's voice sounds as good as ever on The Feast and The Famine, but then God As My Witness kills the momentum of the album completely. I mean "takes-it-down-a-dark-alley-and-beats-the-shit-out-of-it" kills it. The second half of the album is good but none of the final 3 songs really stand out for me yet. Maybe the last episodes of the show will change that.

Have not stopped listening to the new album. Vinyl came today. I like it and the HBO shows are an awesome bonus. I have a free download code that came with the vinyl if anyone wants it.
Scored tix for their show at the Roxy tomorrow night! Can't wait!
Damn man, you seem to score a lot of tix to intimate LA shows! Enjoy

I was thinking the same thing. My man never missed an awesome show in LA!
Thanks! After catching two of their club shows in LA for Wasting Light back in 2011, I was going to exhaust any and all possibilities to get into this one. Glad it's going to work out.

I totally agree. What Did I Do/God As My Witness really kills the momentum of the album. Not a huge fan of that track. I'm really digging 1-3 and 5. 7 is growing on me. Maybe because I'm from Seattle and that's the Seattle track. My secret hope was Subterranean was going to be a kick ass rocker but it's still a good song. I get the somber angle for sure. Overall it's a good album, not an epic album, but not a disappointing album either. One that I'll pickup from time to time but not going to be in constant rotation or a go-to for me.
Great show at The Roxy in L.A. Tonight....3 hours long......Joe Walsh did 2 songs with them, and Perry Farrell came out and played "Mountain Song". Dave announced the Foos are playing The Forum in L.A. On his birthday, January 14.

Good seeing you, even if from a ways!
Phenomenal show. While the reviews of the Sonic Highways album haven't been the best, I like it a bit more after seeing 5 of the songs played live. "Something From Nothing" was incredible live. Great to see Joe Walsh and I just about lost my mind when they brought Perry out and played "Moutain Song," which is one of my all-time favorite songs. You could tell how much Dave enjoyed playing with Joe and Perry too. Enjoyed finally being able to see an episode of Sonic Highways since I don't have premium cable. As a native Angeleno, neat to learn a little more about a section of the LA music scene that was before my time. Also, I love QOTSA so all the Rancho de la Luna stuff was awesome. Really special night to be a part of and thankful I got to be there.
After a few listens, I like it. Some of the songs are a little different for them but it's another enjoyable album.
The shows continue to be phenomenal. I didn't understand for the LA show why they kept jumping back and forth from the dessert to the city. Why not just cover the the city and then go out to the dessert? Interesting story about the Germs lead singer.
Alright, alright, alright!

Kinda sucks for me that they are playing Wrigley and most likely won't be an arena show in Chicago. Wasn't able to get tix to Wrigley and the prices on stubhub right now are insane.
