Recorded the movie last night and just watched it loved every second of it. Hope it comes out on DVD. It was cool learning about the early days and loved seeing the in-studio portion of the making of TNLTL and "Wasting Light". Watching the footage of "Wasting Light" and it being made at Dave's house, it seems like it was a family event; the band and their families as one big family.

Can't wait for tonight on SNL. Hoping they let Dave and the band be in a skit or 2.

IMO.. this album crushes anything of late from PJ. I've always liked the Foos and kept PJ as top of my fave bands. Here lately, the Foos have taken over the top spot. That documentary was incredible!

I believe it's only a Record Store Day release. You know it'll end up on e-Bay.

i watched the doc on friday and really liked it...been a fan since dave put out the first album but really didn't know much about the band and how evetone came together etc...very interesting...confuses me as to why dave would talk to the drummer & guitarist (sorry forgot names)

my favorite part...when taylor said they should be a 3 piece like the police! glad taylor is around to keep the police flag flying high!

I wish they would have mentioned Dave doing TCV. They hit on him playing with Queens and Taylor obviously wasn't cool with that so I'm just curious what he thought about TCV.

Also I thought it was odd that they didn't mention that Pat was back with them on Wasting Light. He was just there again but no mention of him coming back. I've always liked Pat but from this doc I just wouldn't trust him enough to be in my band. He seems to change his mind too much to be a regular committed member.

I thought that was kind of strange too. I just interpreted it as Pat was always looked at as an original member. Dave was obviously very upset with Pat leaving, and just always felt like Pat fit, since he was an original member. Pat probably tried to do his own thing, and realized it wasn't working. So when the Foo's decided to expand the band to accompany the acoustic segment of their live shows, he was brought back in as an additional member, but obviously now is an official member, cause he is on the cover art for "wasting light."
I think this because Pat was never asked to leave the band, Franz was. I do think that sucks Franz got shafted, but it's all just matter of opinion on who is a better fit to be in the band. First tour I saw, Franz and Taylor had just joined the band pretty much. I thought Franz played well, but I know nothing about techical guitar tones and stuff, so I digress. Loved the documentary though. Hope it gets a dvd release.

Do not agree at all. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Foo fan but I'll take Backspacer and Self Titled over ESPG and IYH anyday. I actually think their last album ESPG was their worst.

That being said I have not heard Wasting Light yet...waiting till Tuesday

  • I really enjoyed the Back and Forth, I think I've watched it five times this weekend. The most priceless thing to to me was when Dave said that if he would have take the whole career thing seriously, he would have gave the band a different name b/c it is the worst fing band name in the world. My dog is named after them, Foo Dog, we call him Foo for short, I guess he has the worst dog name in the world. ;)

Edit: I 'm really hoping for a dvd too!
    Hearts and thoughts they fade....

I am at peace with my lust.....for Eddie.
