I hate the rain. I was going to walk to the mall to get it. Time to find someone with a car to drive me there.

Bought the album at J&R this afternoon, and will give it a first listen after I get home from work. I watched Back and Forth last night in anticipation, as this is the first Foo Fighters album I have been excited about since There Is Nothing Left to Lose.

Something like, as a teenager and Nirvana fan, got the first album as soon as it came out, and immediately loved it. Got the second album when it came out, became one of a few albums that is absolutely essential to my collection. Still easily in my top 50 favorite albums ever. Saw them live I believe off this album in 1998 in Albany. Got the third album and liked it, but didn't seem to be quite the same. Saw them live with the Chili Peppers on that tour in Albany. Got One By One. Maybe listened to it 4 or 5 times, and thought it was okay, but felt a little punchless possibly because it failed to deviate from what they were already doing. The next two albums...I heard In Your Honor maybe once, and never listened to the next one. Just sort of fatigue.

However, when the buzz started coming in on this album, with Butch Vig producing and obviously with Novoselic playing on a track, I was intrigued, and have been steadily regaining my interest. I also watched their Wembley Stadium performance on Palladia by chance one day, and the combination of the two have me very excited for this release. I'm ready for some great rock music!

Yes...it's a piece of the master tapes. I saw a dimwhit on another forum (not 10C) asking people to send him their piece of tape so he can string it together. Yeah...that'll work. Here's the article.

No shit. FYE is usually way overpriced. I always used to buy CDs at Circuit City. RIP Circuit City.

Just finished listening to it. It was definitely what I was expecting. I had been waiting so long for this album to come out, ever since following the recording sessions on Twitter. Definitely their best since "The Color and the Shape". I think the only way to describe this album is straight up ass-kicking rock. Too early for me to tell what my favorites are.

Can't wait for more US tour dates to be announced and hoping they make a stop in CT.

I'll have to give this album a listen before I pick it up on lp. IMO their best albums are Grohl's first and Nothing Left to Lose.

I think you should've wrote 'brother' instead of 'sister'. I definitely agree that it's one of the best of 2011. Definitely going to get a Grammy nom and possible win for Best Rock Album and I hope to see it nominated for Album of the Year. Butch Vig did a phenomenal job producing the album.
