I'll tell you right now it's going to be hard to watch this on VH1. With how much the band cussed through out the movie it's going to be just one really long beep almost.

Nope. I saw that a couple weeks after I ordered and wanted to kick myself for not getting that.

So I finally got a chance to listen to it today. It was a typical Foo Fighters album which is a good thing. Lot of kick ass songs mixed with some softer/slower songs.

Some of my fav songs- White Limo, Bridge Burning, & Walk.

My favorite song is probably "These Days," which is odd as it's one of the ones that deviates from the hard rock formula the band was trying to nail on this record, but it's so damn catchy.
  • There's nothing at all surprising about the new album and that in itself is where the problem lies for me.

I just can't get the connection with Foo Fighters. The songs are dreadfully samey, sounding like they could have been lifted of earlier albums.

Not for me, but then that's just my opinion.
It's gonna be a glorious day...

Totally agree with you. It's just a paint-by-numbers simple riff album. Little creativity or anything to seperate it from earlier releases.

I'm just bored listening to it :?

I thought the first 4 songs sounded very queens of the stone agey... in a good way. They rock hard and have that groove, but they dont sound like a rip off just similar.
The rest of the album sounds cookie cutter Foo Fighters

    BUT

I dig it. I've enjoyed my first listen a lot. So the above is not critisizm just pointing out an opinion

I've seen a lot of people comparing the album to QOTSA or Them Crooked Vultures but I don't see it myself. To me it just sounds like a harder Foo Fighters record.

the intro to arlandria is SOOOO TCV... and still my favorite song off of this

it was bound to rub off a little with all the time they spend together :D

i still have my fingers crossed that dave and josh split the vocal duties on the next TCV a little better
