Christmas gift help!

Definitely get her a gift...doesn't have to be anything too expensive, but a little token that shows you put some thought into it. Don't do the gift card - too impersonal and she'll know exactly what you spent. And I agree with others - dinner is something you're going to spring for when you're dating anyway. Personally I would love to get a little beaded jewelry box or a small crystal perfume bottle...a pretty little trinket but not too too personal. Although she might expect you to fill the jewelry box down the road
Or if she likes to read or loves movies you could get her some books or DVDs in her genre of choice...shows that you pay attention to what she likes. Whatever you do...don't get an appliance...that never ends well.
just saying :P

a few months ago, there was a commercial on tv where two friends are in their pajamas drinking coffee and the little blonde begins jumping up and down, showing her rock, saying "he went to Jared." Better hope that doesn't come on tv if you are watching it together. I bet she wants a ring for Christmas...

That's what I meant --- if you get her something related to what she likes to do...it shows you're paying attention. (Just not coffee.)
While you're staying away from appliances - stay away from jerseys, too. The ex gave me a Rangers hockey jersey for my birthday. I don't even like hockey. :lolno:0 -

Which is another great tip. Make sure you get something she likes, not something you would like.

Here's my idea, and I need thoughts and ideas.. I'll just get her a card, maybe right something cute in it like "this coupon is good for a free dinner with me" or something along those lines.
I don't think the coupon idea is cheap in the slightest ... I think it's a great idea, really sweet ... given with the card I think it's a great nod that you have given thought but not gone over the top ... just remember next year she may give you this Christmas list

I'm kinda in the same boat as LAO right now...a month into dating someone...and of course, I only meet people right before their birthday, or right before christmas. This one's special; her bday is Jan.6
She has a mass perfume collection...the crystal bottle and box could work (maybe a couple other little things)...now to figure out where to find such things...?
hope she doesn't have one already, but I'm stumped and this gets my stamp of 'good enough'0 -

birthdays and Christmas can be easily negotiated. There are some small perfume bottles here, but you can probably find them at any department store. http://search.anthropologie.com/control ... e%20bottle

I did meet the family Sunday. Being a latino family, I got kissed by every aunt and am in a bunch of family photos now. ..Her parents really warmed to me. The dad kept pouring me wine and shaking my hand, so at least I'm not hated.
I ended up getting her a scarf and nice stainless steel travel coffee mug and card.0 -

I can't imagine that pressure  Like when Ryan from the office accidentally asked Kelly out on Valentine's DayThere's just no way to survive that.

i don't think this is the official thread, but the fun starts in it.
