  • How many tickets are usually sold for shows at the Gorge?
  • Well since Saskatchewan isn't in the middle of the USA, or in the USA for that matter I suppose this will be another PJ road trip. Red Rock Colorado would be cool!! Fairly central. See you all in 2011.

Love him to bits but I've NEVER seen PJ so have to do something in 2011! What kind of money are we usually looking at for this? Average the travel to at least 1500 miles as I am on the east coast.
Thanks for any info...gotta get there somehow :P

Put aside $1000 and you should be good. I'm sure the ticket will be close to $100, air travel will probably be around $500.

I bet you could do it for less than $1000.

Say $300 for for your tickets if it's a 3 day thing
    $400 flight
    $300 food and split lodging

road trip it with 3 other fans in a four seater car and you can cut your travel costs way down. if you assume 3K miles round trip, that be like $350-400 in gas split 4 ways. that assumes you don't mind a good long drive. so $100 each

5 hotel nights, two people per room is about $175 per person. i assumed like 75 bucks for a room. you can do better than this depeding on your tastes. we are staying in a 3.5 star place for like 70 per night on our vacation.

tickets have been running about 75 per show, assume 3 nights and you have 225

food & beer. $10-$50 per day or more depending on your tastes and drinking level. lets use 40, so thats 200

souvieries. one poster and one t shirt. 65

total cost: $765 for an average. go cheap and skip souvieniers and some food/beer and you could do it for $600

I live in CT and I am hoping for Alpine Valley. I heard the place is great to see a show and flights to MI are pretty reasonable. Plus I can check off another state I saw a show in as I know it won't be in the East Coast.

It is an awesome place to see a show with 40,000 other people, and you can get there nice and early and tailgate in the parking lot.

  • http://www.iowastatefair.org/ Someone on COS, said they have a good source this is the sight in June or July. It may have been posted on here already but I just saw the post on COS, they said PJ playing all 3 nights, but did not mention it was a festival type thing where there would be hundreds of bands like lolla or Roo. Take it for what it's worth but just wanted to toss it out there if anyone else had heard

In case no one's mentioned it here yet... Tim clarified by saying it is not actually going to be a 'festival', rather more of a 'weekend' in celebration of the 20th on PJXM today.

The media outlets are calling it a festival. Personally I'd rather a weekend party, but because the music media is calling it as a festival makes me wonder if it is a festival.

Det kan vi. Regner med at 2-3 kompiser slenger seg med om det passer med jobbing :) Håper på Chicago område da flybillettene ligger på ca 4700 kroner tur/retur.

The media outlets are calling it a festival because they read the headlines on this board. Seriously! This is why Tim had to explicitly make a point of clarifying that it is not a festival on yesterday's show. The only source the media have is what we have - the Sirius broadcasts.

If you can get a flight to Rockford, IL or Beloit, WI you would be within an hour of the venue. Madison is also nother alternative. I have also flown to and from Gen. Mitchell airport in Milwaukee and it is also very easy to commute to and fly out of.

The airports in NE IL would be O'Hare or Midway and you are still a 2.5 to 3 hour drive from Alpine. I would avoid flying to Chicago if you could.
