It better not be limited, besides stern theres no other reason I should pay 30 bucks a month for 2 subscriptions, This is by far the best thing sirius has ever done..
$360 a year??? I've had XM it for three years and paid no higher than $185. I even had it lowered this year to $145
Wow that's crazy. There is a known deal that if you call and threaten to cancel they will offer it to you for $77/year, which is what I've done the last two years now. Sometimes you have to call back a few times but they definitely have that option available.
I mean don't get me wrong, I certainly hope it's not limited and the thought didn't cross my mind until I heard the first deejay say it on Saturday and another one today. These were two different channels that were obviously reading a promo script because it was word-for-word the same. It starts with the phrase "In honor of Pearl Jam's 20th anniversary we are bringing you Pearl Jam radio for a limited time on XM channel..." and then again at the end they're all like "again, don't miss Pearl Jam radio on XM 39 and Sirius (whatever channel) for a limited time as we celebrate their 20th anniversary". Please know that I'm not arguing with you at all, I just find it odd that they would say that.
I've heard the live read that the DJ's do and I never heard them mention limited time. This channel is here to stay.[/quote]
ive heard it twice since i started listening on saturday. i believe they are wrong though.
WTF??? Did I miss something. I cancelled my xm radio a year ago. I reactivated it monday night for Pearl Jam channel and I log in this morning online at work and its now Neil Diamond? The schedule and channel line up says Pearl Jam until Sunday at least! I'm on hold with them now to see whats up.

They just haven't relabelled the online player yet. You will find it under Music>Rock>813 - Music Showcase

Thank you! I almost cancelled it again. But as long as Pearl Jam stays I stay.
I heard on XM today that Pearl Jam radio will be around for atleast the rest of the month. No word on how long it will run for after that but I wouldn't hold my breath for it being a permanent thing.

maybe the xm people won't have it for long then. but the sirius will.
The mid-day daily concert has been such a boost at work for me. For someone who doesn't download much and prefers to stream shows, this arrangement has been perfect. Great job Rob and co.
Today's '08 Bonnaroo show - the dedicated No More transitioning into Release was almost too much for me, nearly lost it at my desk. Just an unbelievable encore there.
I've only been able to listen here and there and was wondering if they play ALL acts associated with PJ . . . Temple, Brad, Soundgarden, Mad Season, etc....
Really been enjoying PJ radio on Sirius. The only criticism I would have is that the playlist seems to be a bit repetitive at times. Given the hundreds of live recordings available and the vastness of their catalog it would seem that the chances for hearing the same exact track from a specific show in the same day, or even the same week, would be remote. Yet I've observed this on multiple occasions over the last week or so. Take a cover like Kick Out The Jams for example, which according to PJ's official web site has been played live 16 times over the last 6 years. But if you look at the playlist stats from PJ radio, of the 9 times the song has been played on the radio in the last week, all but one of them comes from the MSG show this year. And on a few of those days the exact same track was played more than once. I find that odd. I checked several other random songs and discovered the same sort of repetitiveness with many of them. I can see how you could play the same song more than once a day, but if they do that wouldn't it better to pull from different shows?

That is where the difference between the online PJ Radio and the Sirius/XM comes in, especially as the Sirius one gets off the ground in these first few weeks. The online PJ Radio explores more vastness of the live catalog, while Sirius/XM is a bit more streamlined for the average fan, as well as the hardcore. An interesting balance to achieve. But I hear you on the versions and we're working on getting more and different versions of things into their system, which also can't hold every version of every song at the same time. We are dealing with some technical limitations, but give it a bit more time and more versions will be making their way in.

I've heard TotD, Mad Season, and Jeff Ament solo on there.
Anyone hear the Mamason demos? WOW!!! I caught the last 15 seconds of Footsteps (arggh), and a good bit of Once. Now that's what you call going into the archives!

10th anniversary of Rodeskilde :(
whole shows?
they play early live stuff. I don't think whole shows. But I've heard randall's island, soldier field, atlanta and drop in the park.
whole shows would be awesome...i think i heard a song from atlanta back in the day. other than that, jones beach 2000 was the oldest stuff i heard.
i think they played the whole soldier field show 2 Saturdays ago.
