My mom and dad never gave me a bedtime, so I'd be up watching Carson and Benny Hill and Love American Style. In retrospect they probably shouldn't have let me....although it might explain a lot now lol
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
I remember when Friday night was sleepover night and we'd get a few girls together and play with the
Ouija Board.....
turn all the lights off except the Lava Lights and black lights in the rec room and asked questions about the boys at school etc and magically it would move and spell out the answer we were seeking....ooooo scary
played with the magic 8 ball too and I remember super balls they were cool.. bounced higher than the tree tops, lost a lot of those in the gutters.
I remember when my sister and I lived in the flat downstairs from our best friends and the girls upstairs installed a laundry pulley between our bedroom window and their bedroom window so we could send notes to each other with laundry clips. (!!)
I remember when a packet of crisps cost 10p
I remember it's 5 to 5, its friday.... its......crackerjack.
I remember when everybody wore tracksuits with strips down the side.
I remeber paying £10 to see Metallica play the secc in Glasgow.
My first ever pj ticket cost me £5.
I remember the first ever episode of Eastenders.
I remember when you could go out with £20, maybe £30 in your wallet, get wasted, have a great night, and still come home with plenty change.

i remember when kids knew how to dial a phone
Dear Amy: I am a secretary at your average middle school. The other secretary and I have noticed an alarming trend: Children of the cellphone generation do not know how to use a land line phone!
Students are not allowed to use their cellphones during school
hours, but they are permitted to use the office phones to call home.
This is what we have witnessed and are concerned about: They do not pick up the receiver before dialing the number.
They do not listen for a dial tone. They do not know to dial 1 before the area code and number.
They do not know their home number or the number of a parent's cellphone (because they are used to speed-dialing it from their own cellphones).
It is essential that parents review this with their children. There are times when their cellphone may not work or be available, and they may have to rely on a regular phone to reach their parents. — School Secretary
