    Commy, you're assuming that the Iranian regime is rational. The entire fear is that they aren't rational, that they actually believe their apocalyptic ideology/theology, and would be willing to act on it.

    iran's crime is being outside the empire.....as was Iraq's, as was afghanistans. it is being demonized and people led to believe they are irrational because they aren't under washington's jurisdiction, washington want's to change that.



    (the axis of evil comment from junior bush included 3 countries outside the empire as well)

    And Israel isn't bent on forcing a conflict? Let's be honest: all the talk of war has come from Israel. In fact the Israeli leadership talks of war with Iran on an almost daily basis. But I can see how it may look to be the other way around if you turn reality on it's head.

    Sly, gutless & devious, eh? Now I have 3 words that best describe myself in case I am asked that question at a job interview!

    If someone can round up some parchment paper and a pair of trumpetors, we will have one heck of a cool proclomation scene! Maybe add in the term "here-by" to make it even sound more official! :)

    Commy, I believe that Afghanistan, rather than being guilty of being "outside the empire," was actually guilty of sheltering the terrorist organization that, you know, flew a couple planes into a bunch of buildings and killed a whole lot of people.

    And yeah, B, you know it's really weird that Israel would be hostile towards a country whose leaders talk about the destruction of Israel, who fund, train, and arm not one, but two terrorist organizations that regularly threaten and/or attack Israel, and that is developing nuclear weapons. I really can't for the life of me understand that. :roll:

    I took it to be a reference to hostility towards Israel. I believe the discussion was about whether apologists for Iran are really motivated by hatred/dislike of Israel.
