Its all opinion but for me Led Zep could never be overated.

Overated bands for me, Mettalica, Nickleback, Eric Clapton as some refer to him as the greatest guitarist of all time. That goes to Hubert Sumlin for me.

Oh and sorry Dimi but Mike McCready is way overated by some.

I'll agree on Clapton. Love to hear him play the guitar but wishes he wouldn't sing.

I love his music but he is not anywhere near the greatest players, but he has always played down claims of him being the best and over many years has given various names as his influences so I really respect him for that.

Although I don't think many people on here will agree, I would say Nirvana. Not much musical talent in my opinion, any one can play three chords on a guitar and scream and swear. Just my opinion folks, don't get all upset.

I will agree, U2 and Nickelback. Also never really got into Nirvana. I always thought they stole most of PJ's spotlight(and I think that's how our boys preferred it). I do think that Nirvana unplugged is their best album though.

Hey!!!!!!! :x No, you're absolutely right I think. I do like Nirvana but to label them alongside some of the greats of the past 40 years is wrong. They had a great sound and good songs but from a technical standpoint they were sloppy as hell. The argument about Nirvana deserves it's own space though because it's never going to be just about the music where they are concerned. They're certainly not the legends we're led to believe they are though.

Although I don't agree with u that Nirvana wasn't talented-(IMO they wrote some great music, albeit sometimes simple and catchy)...I definitely feel they are overrated --they are often lumped in with some of the greatest bands of all time and thats just wrong-- not to sound too harsh, but dying really boosts ur legacy

I would say Nickelback, but I am not sure who rates them high, except for on a sales perspective. If we're going by album sales, then, yeah, Nickelass.

Besides that, I'm agreein' with u2 to an extent. Half of War, most of Joshua Tree, all of Achtung Baby, then really scattershot since.

    And Kiss. Definitely Kiss.
    - Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense -

How can bands such as Nickelback and Creed possibly be considered "overrated" when neither have any credibility or critical acclaim?? The very definition of overrate is "to rate or appraise too highly", and both those bands are reviled nearly unanimously by critics....
