I hope Washington wins the title this year. Against Michigan. An SEC-less championship game is what college football needs.

We had that for the 2014 season. Game wasn't even close.

I'm just happy my Gamecocks finally won a decent game against an orange team.

I'm on board with that, but change out Michigan for Clemson.

Washington certainly didn't look good enough yesterday to think about a National Championship. Good, but not great.

It was definitely an improvement over the first part of the season but I'm still pretty skeptical. It's the Gamecock in me.

Washington loses a game and misses the CFP.

What a crazy game with Clemson FSU. The O line just blew the game, that had to hurt so badly for FSU fans. Thought they had the victory.

I'm not suggesting we're world beaters all of a sudden. It's looking like we have a legitimate chance to be bowl eligible, which I would have thought impossible at the beginning of the year. Still a lot of work to be done, but it is nice seeing a team that works hard and doesn't quit be rewarded with some W's.

True. I predicted a 5 win season so 6 wins would exceed my expectations. Hopefully we play well this weekend at home.

Anybody have an opinion on the current playoff teams? I know it's still early but I don't understand Texas A&M at #4. Is this a diss at Washington?

is it just me, or does ole miss have the preppiest, old white money student base of all time?

Haha I think that's an accurate assessment
    Rob,
How do you think they got all those great recruiting classes?? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Everyone in the SEC knows that they were paying their players.
Every major college program is paying their players. Not just the SEC
I wouldn't go that far without proof.
I tend to agree with him. Not saying the school is paying, though....I think the boosters get in that shit and find ways to give these kids (or their families) money.
Obviously I am biased but that is one of the reasons why it was such a sham that USC got the ridiculous penalties it did. It was much more about our arrogant asshole of an AD, and his brushing off the asshole convention the NCAA put together to investigate, than it was the actual crimes.
NCAA is a joke. Kids should get some sort of minimum payment for playing. Don't seriously have time to work (and they are heavily restricted on how much that can work even if they did have time) with the demands of practice and school. They need to be able to have some semblance of a life. (This leaves out the time to eat. If you are a top level athlete like these guys you need to spend a good amount of time every day eating just to balance the weights, exercise, etc...)
Free school is very valuable and I do not think they should be getting big money....just enough to cover as if they were working a student job at the same time so they have some money to not feel totally broke ass.
Sorry, been away from the forums for a week or two. Yeah, while I know not every school is paying their players, the big ones (Bama, USC, OSU, etc), those boosters are giving back in more ways than one. It may not be tons of money to each player, but they're getting $50 or $100 handshakes or a free trip, or tickets. A friend I graduated high school with in the mid 90's, signed with a major bball program. A week later, he had a new car. and he use to tell me that after big wins, he would get a $50 handshake. he rode the bench and basically only came in when the game was out of reach, so no telling how much the stars of the team got. Now, I realize that is not going to happen at every school, but it happens more than you think. Maybe it's their parents getting a new car, or a nice job. Heck, there's been rumors for years that Coach K at duke was getting jobs for recruits kids at the duke medical center. The NCAA is very crooked, so why should the schools fall in line. As long as it's not flaunted around, the NCAA is willing to look the other way. When schools get busted for "impermissable benefits" it's because somebody got careless or a kid opened his mouth.

And on another note, Texas A&M ranked #4 in the first playoff poll? Didn't see that coming. But if Washington wins out, they'll pass them

I'm an Aggie and don't understand A&M at 4 either. They are a good team, but I don't think they pass the eye test compared to some of the games I have seen Washington play. Washington will be in the playoff if they go undefeated. Granted these rankings aren't worth much yet I don't think and are done just so ESPN can have something else to debate nonstop.

SEC bias. Plain and simple. Funny how when A&M was in the Big 12, they were never ranked. But join the SEC and they're top 10 to start every season.
