somebody has started drinking a little early today. :P

I'm still drinking (hiccup) from the excessive OchoStinko shots during the finale last eve - WTF??? did they show him for? Jeez louise...(hiccup)
I loved Philbins demeanor and salty language...
I thought last nights finale was "bleh" - very uneventful and I didn't like that the narrator didn't mention "Super Bowl Contending" prior to the exit of the show...a tad disturbing...(hiccup)

i get that players/coaches/teams all need to talk that way....but i'm not going to lie to myself. if i thought the bears would stink this year, i'd be the first to tell you as much. pull your head out and look at your squad.

i will say, that RB looks interesting.

Bush? Thomas? Or are you referring to the "Human Bowling ball' FB Jovarskie Lane?
I could be wrong (and I've predicted a Fins SB appearance every year since 84) - but I do like this team. ZERO expectations, a defense that reads the mags, sees the "experts" predictions - they have something to prove.
My real ONLY concern is OLINE depth. Should Jake Long or Pouncey & Incognito go down, we have extremely young and extremely raw backups...
Remember, this is a WCO - no need for pro-bowl receivers - its all timing, precise routes - our QB is basically running HIS college offense, with his college coach as his coordinator. Something to be said for familiarity - definitely eases the learning curve.
I believe, I have hope and I truly think this team will be WAY better then the 3-13 prognosticators say it will...there is no reason this isn't an 8-8 team at worst - christ, we were 6-10 last year - after an 0-7 start - "MO" is on our side...we AIN'T going backwards, that is for damn sure!
Starts Sunday, in Houston, vs a franchise we have NEVER beat - double digit underdogs - we are going to shock the world, 81 - you'll see my friend.

There should be a three team rotation between the Raiders, Jets, and Bengals for Hard Knocks.

The same way there should be a three city rotation of Miami, New Orleans, and San Diego for the Super Bowl. No one wants to go to Indy, Detroit, or New York in January.

I'm partial to and my favorite was the very first season of Hard Knocks with the Ravens. Back when they had Ray Ray when he was younger, Shannon Sharpe, and Siragusa. It was awesome and they won the SB that year too.

It's always awkward when they show guys getting cut from the team. You can tell the coaches hate doing it, and they just want to get it over with as quickly as possible. And most of the time there is no sincerity when they do it.

I wish they'd get a real franchise for this. But the stupid Jets season of Hard Knocks scared them all away and now only desperate-for-attention teams like the Bengals and Dolphins will commit. I'd love to see teams like the Steelers, Patriots, Packers, or Giants on this.

Feel bad for the rookie Larry Black breaking his leg the first week of practice and having to miss the entire season.

I definitely enjoy defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer saying fuck every other word too.

    Zimmer is awesome.

Anyone else hear the PJ reference on tonight's episode? There was a either a timeout or a break in their preseason game, and one of the assistant coaches was talking to Eifert and told him he was listening to Pearl Jam or they played Pearl Jam over the loudspeaker or something, I can't quite make out what he said. But he went on to say to Eifert in reference to PJ, "Pearl Jam....love it. Old school, brings me back to my high school days. You probably weren't even born yet".

    Anyone else catch that?

Think it might have been during warm ups of the preseason game? Have to watch the episode again.

The coach got the same look from Eifert that I get when I tell the early 20 year olds in my office about Pearl Jam.

The "Oh ... those guys ... they're still around?" look.

Yeah, Eifert definitely seemed like he had no idea who the coach was talking about. But he seems like a pretty big Gomer Pile anyway. I was thinking it was during warm ups or a break in the game or something.

Can't believe that Mike Brown is still GM/president of the Bengals. That meeting with the coaches where they were talking about what players to cut was so uncomfortable to watch. One of those situations where the crazy old man who owns the company (in this case, team) is still running the show and everyone just has to deal with it.

So true. I work for a large corporation/company, and unfortunately, it just kind of reminds me of that. The head honcho, no matter how much he actually knows or has experienced himself, all the others below him are going to follow order and do what he says and as they are told. A complete dog and pony show. The way that players are referred to as a number or "we can do without him" is just nuts, but it is a business after all. I just don't think I've seen a Hard Knocks yet where the owner is that involved in the cuts and is pretty much the one making that decision. For the most part, the ones with that most authority and who that is delegated to the most is the GM and Head Coach. But I guess he is the GM. I'm talking about someone who has actual experience as a coach, playing, or direct player personnel as te GM. That was very uncomfortable - I always hate seeing the guys get cut, it's always so awkward. I feel really sorry for Aaron Maybin, being an 11th pick overall a few years ago and now can't even make a team and he seems like a good dude who works hard. I can't imagine that pressure and how that would feel to be one of those guys pinned as someone who "hasn't panned out."

So the Bengals really don't have an indoor practice facility? Watching the episode from last night and they can't practice because of the rain...seems pretty ridiculous these days.

After watching this show, I guarantee any member of the Bengals coaching staff would jump at any opportunity to give A.J. Green a hand job. The dude is sick though.

With every episode, and seeing how he interacts with players how much he's respected, the more and more I think Zimmer is the man.

AJ Green is awesome. Hoping to get him in my fantasy draft on Saturday.

Shocked that Zimmer isn't a head coach yet. His day has to be coming soon...

    Season has been pretty boring

Couldn't agree more, sad to say, but this is the first year where there hasn't been the dynamite competition, new dynamic...when the best thing about the show seems to be an assistant coach who should be a head coach (Zimmer), a washed up linebacker who you are waiting for to snap on a camera guy (Harrison) and the cluelessness of Mike Brown...man, wtf???
I used to make sure the schedule was clear on Tuesday night to watch this show, after a handful I could care less now.
And honestly, don't we all know how this Bengals season plays out??? One and done playoffs, barring a miraculous turnaround from Pittsburgh and a repeat performance by Baltimore.
Sheesh. The first Bengals go round a few years back was light years better than this years version.
No drama or real characters is probably a great thing for the ballclub, however.

Definitely not as good as previous seasons. Still cool to get the behind the scenes access, but nothing very exciting.

James Harrison scares the shit out of me. He is one angry dude.

I could actually see the Bengals making a little noise in the playoffs this year...their defense is pretty damn good.
