Yeah, not a fan of that. Every time I go out to the midwest, my cousins and their friends make fun of me and say stuff like "Hey Boston, say some funny shit for us." They just don't get it that it is I who speaks normal and they are the oddballs. Whatever, we'll have our New England contingency at this thing. Newch and twisted have nothing to worry about because everyone knows CT speak is plainer than vanilla ice cream. That's always blown my mind with the distinct accents of MA and NY so close, CT people have virtually no accent. Remarkable really.

Try being from the south and travel outside of that region. It's like I escaped from the zoo or something.

    Ummmm... ya kinda did.
 Kidding of course! I love the south!
As a matter of fact, I can see South Boston across the harbor from my house.

I knew I would get some shit over that comment but I went out on that limb anyway...

Sorry, it was just such a meatball to toss to the plate. I had to swing big before one of the boys beat me to it. ((smooch))

Except we don't say New Britain like New BriTain; we say it like New Britain, where you can barely make out the T.

Newbriddan. Isn't that how it's said?
Yes. But people in CT pronounce it like New Bri-in.

I hate when I can't go to sleep.

With all this PJ20 news, I'm listening to Hartford '96 right now. The announcement triggered something in me to listen to PJ like a mad man and get more bootlegs.

I just picked up a mint original A Hard Days Night 1964 Mono vinyl. I have been looking for awhile for this one cause it's my favorite Beatles album. Can't wait to give this one a spin.

Awesome find youngster. It's my second favorite Beatles album.

Eddie, I've been asking since July for you to come to CT for a show and yet you add a Perth show. Now I don't know if I'm going to go to the show if it happens.

Some asshole hacked into one of the UConn sites and took billing information and tried to use it. I reported it stolen and now the bank will get me the money back that I had in it and send me a new card and new number. Now I don't know what sites are safe to buy from...even this site I'm unsure about.

  • What is the deal w/ UConn and security issues....Didnt this happen a short while back also? I believe I remember reading about that a year or so ago. They obviously need new tech dudes cuz thats a huge problem...all those student's info being stolen. thats wack. Sorry for you Newch. As long as you call your banks/credit card co's etc and let them know, they should be able to issue you new cards, and monitor your accounts for strange activity.

Ok, now I have some serious freakin work to do today if ima call out of work tomorrow...b/c its sounding like we're gonna get at least a foot of snow by tomorrow morning. :x

Newch, that sucks. I had that happen to me a few years back. I shopped at BJ's and used my debit card from my bank. Apparently the company BJ's hired to do their accounting stole thousands of card numbers including mine. My bank caught wind of it before me and when I went to use the ATM, they siezed my card right in the machine. Oh, and I was living in Florida at the time and had no other access to money. I had to have my dad wire me like $1,500 to cover my bills and rent for the month until he could get a new card from the bank and mail it to me. It is very stressful and sorry to hear something similar happened to you. Hopefully it doesn't go any further than this for you.

    This is true.

While checking my debit account I found a charge for $9 that I couldn't recall, the next day a similar charge popped up, tiny amount, unfamiliar vendor. One was a ranch out in the midwest, the other was an online electronics store. I notified my bank when I saw the first one, and they immediately stopped the charges, refunded my money, and gave me a new card.

The thing that was the most work was figuring out what bills I pay directly from that account, and notifying all of the creditors _ my auto loan, my monthly donation to the MSPCA, phone bill, car insurance, etc.

Now I put limits on that account and I'm notified by text message if checks of a certain size are withdrawn (i.e. agility trial fees for the dogs), or if the account balance drops. Also, I check the charges just about every single day to make sure I know what's posted.

I no longer use that card to buy anything online. I have a separate credit card, with a deliberately low balance that I use exclusively for non-recurring purchases.

Good luck, Newch. The assholes are out there for sure, and they can really mess things up for the rest of us.
