    living without weed? heaven forbid
but don't let it be your life, let it compliment your life.
So my vote is "worse" 8-)

all sober living is better in the long run. clear head.

i don't find weed harmful. just honestly made me feel dumb and unmotivated after awhile so i don't smoke anymore..unless at a concert :)

worse for sure!! - need a little something to just unwind and relax on the weekends. full time job, 3 kids (quit 3x for 9 months!) and i help my husband run his business -- so i definitely need something. not much for alcohol plus alcohol totally impairs you - weed doesn't do that. i can function after smoking. guess i could live without it but it would not be by choice!

Not true...I guess it depends on how much you are drinking...but it'd be the same with anything.

I've never tried weed, so living without it is easy. I just never felt the need to do it. To each their own, but it pisses me off when a weed smoker gets on some moral high ground against alcohol. It's just silly.

If you have to ask it may be time for another hobby...

    lol...

I never got the fascination with it... I've probably smoked like a dozen times in my life, and really have no use for it.

So, my vote is better, much better... I guess like anything else, you get used to it, but I couldn't imagine being stoned everyday...

Life is what you make it. How you choose to feel is how you are. Better or worse is a choice. Depends on the inner self. You should ask yourself this question and not other people.

It Suck's Moose C***, i've been without for 5 months because my job started testing, i lived stoned for 10 years before that, it was wonderful, if i wasn't at work i was stoned. I miss it SO much. If i ever get laid off the first thing i'm doing is buy like 3 ounces and sit home get hi and watch scifi movies and t.v. shows, i almost wana get laid off. If i could chose i would give up drinking and go back to getting hi any day of the week. I once took a week off work, played Grand Theft Auto 3 and watched all 7 seasons of Star Trek DS9, while smoking like 14 joint's a day, one an hour while being awake. It was the Greatists week EVER!!!

Isn't it all subjective? Some people get the negative effects while others benefit from the positive. (all in moderation, of course!) So don't take our word for it OP, do what you think would be best...or just take a break if you're not sure about the rest of your life without it. ;)

i really like smoking it but life doesn't seem so dire if i don't have any. maybe for the first day i miss it but after that it seems like it's no problem. but then i was able to quit smoking cigarettes all at once

I don't understand why my office/job have the right to do a screening? I don't have the right to live high or whatever the heck i want? If i have an horrible record, i don't produce anything at my job, they have the right to kick me but otherwise i have the right to live however the heck i want, doesn't it?

Can someone explain me the law? Really i don't have any idea why that's possible.

i don't get it either, i've been there 18 years, i work my but off, but this year they wen't ALL PC. Lucky for me my boss gave me the heads up.
  • I had to quit for a while as it was really taking me to dark places. I still have to watch my intake, but when I get in the zone, man, jesus, it's awesome. But I don't smoke that much.

I'd go with what one person said, that it's all in what you want out of life. There's nothing wrong with either lifestyle, it's all what's good for you.

In high school I smoked twice a day every day. In my early 20's I quit completely. In my later 20's I started jamming with my old band again, need I say more? That band broke up over Xmas '09, so now not so much.

Very interesting replies, I have been studying this subject for some time now and I was expecting to hear that many people had given up and their lives were much better for it. My research has found a large number of smokers that are desperate to give up and have heard many heartbreaking tales.

I don't really know the law but you get a break on your health and commercial/ workers comp insurance if you require drug screening. This is the motivation of some employers. I think with fair warning they can do it.
Husband says he might consider drug screening but only to find out who isn't sharing hee hee
thats a joke sort of 8-)

It sounds like a wonderful place to work, full of magic and shiny happy people!

I don't smoke or drink but in defend the rights of those who choose to do it.
