Forget every other stat that shows how super-humanly good Tiger is...
Just think about being the low score, in the final rd, in your last 22 wins...
Nah, he doesn't strike fear in other golfers anymore...
    LOL
    Wow.
GO TIGER...can't wait for the US Open.

uhhh ... that's just in his pairing no? ... it's not the low score for the final round for all golfers ... he was like only 2 under yesterday ...

no one wants to talk about the potential illegal drop he took on 14? ...:lol:

This drop stuff is getting absurd. Are we going to start looking at the number of feet off a line a drop is from a blimp view for every shot? If so, it needs to be done for every drop that occurs in a tournament, not just Tiger's. You clearly play golf. Do you know how hard it is to get the exact line a ball passed a point from 250 yard away?

Yes, low score in the final-round group. Meaning whoever he has played with in the final round in which he has been paired and in which he won, he has beaten that day as well. Impressive.
Illegal drop stuff again? LOL. Some people crack me up...

any philly area people heading to merion? my brothers and my dad are going to the wednesday practice round. know a bunch of people volunteering there too. should be a hell of a time. tickets came last week. can't wait.

I was watching yesterday as best as I could from a plane. Technology is pretty damn sweet.

I'll be there Saturday (want to be able to actually see what happens Sunday) and probably whichever practice round I can get the least expensive ticket for. Want to get a feel for the layout and where the crowds will be the worst. It is going to be an absolute shit show with the size and layout of the course. I have no idea how it's going to work.

parking is going to be unbelievably awful.

SEPTA and shuttles for me. Going to still be awful but not nearly as bad as parking at PPL parking and getting shuttled. That's how far they will be shipping people, I am hearing.

I hear you but this drop has just been getting too much press. It's a much much different situation than the Masters. I just can't believe some of the pictures I am seeing of the blimp views and lines and all. I mean, every drop in golf in a similar situation is probably slightly off line, right?

Yeah, I hear you. Going to be awesome. My first weather related request is no rain.

How soon do you think we will start hearing about Tiger (and others) in the area? Tiger has never played Merion. No shot he is going in to the practice rounds having never played the course. I think all he has on his schedule before Merion is The Memorial.

honestly ... based on all the evidence - blimp, rolfing's live commentary, etc ... i would say he for sure took a bad drop ... did he intentionally? ... i dunno ... and honestly i don't really care ... what i do think is clear is that tiger woods clearly gets preferential treatment ... and again - i don't really care too much about it ... i'm just telling it the way i see it ...

“No, not at all. I saw it perfectly off the tee,” Wittenberg said. “We talked to each other. He asked me exactly where it crossed. I told him I thought it crossed on the corner of the bunker right where he took his drop, and it’s all good.

“There is no doubt, guys. The ball crossed where he dropped.”

And that is possible but he is also the ONLY one who gets everything analyzed this much and his shots looked at from a blimp. Did anyone else in the top 10 take a drop this weekend? Are we looking to see from a blimp whether they were exactly on line from where they went into the water?

Since you don't really care, how about some education:
"Without definitive evidence, the point where Woods' ball last crossed the lateral water hazard is determined through best judgment by Woods and his fellow competitor. If that point later proves to be a wrong point (through television or other means), the player is not penalized by Rule 26-1 given the fact that a competitor would risk incurring a penalty every time he makes an honest judgment as to the point where his ball last crosses a water-hazard margin and that judgment subsequently proves incorrect (Decision 26-1/17)."

Like Brandel Chamblee, Johnny Miller is a toolbag, hates Tiger and will look for anything to stir some poop up.
Side hill 255 yard shot, that his playing partner and caddy agreed was the spot and people still want to make an issue???? Talk about the amazingly putrid choke job on 17 Sergio had once he knew he was tied for the lead. Or the shot on 18 that got wet? No, nobody wants to talk about that?
Tiger = preferrential treatment...same way Jordan, LeBron, and all the epic greats do?
Tiger birdied after the double bogey right? Oh ya...

Sergio doesn't need a bad drop to implode, he does it to himself then cries after. ;)

Seriously though, drops can't be analyzed this with rulers and blimp pictures. If so, it has to be done for everyone and that's not possible. The people on the ground and there all thought he dropped on line. Whether he did is up for debate, but he was clearly not dropping off line on purpose. To me, the end. And honestly, I would be fine if that were Sergio but like I said, he just does it to himself.

first of all - i know the rule ... the rule has nothing to do with it because i didn't say he cheated - all i said was he took a bad drop based on all the evidence i saw ...

if you would take your head out of his jock strap for a few seconds - maybe you would clue in ... ... btw - i mentioned sergio's choke job ... not sure why you tiger lovers take everything so seriously with him ...

yeah - they definitely don't need to be using blimps and video replay for every golfer ... it's not even close to what i'm suggesting ...

    A) bad drop based on your view from TV?
    B) "head out of jock strap"? Besides not knowing the rules it appears you don't know the equipment they wear either... you should have said "ball bag", would have been more fitting...lol

Best golfer in my lifetime, by far, barring none. I'm a fan. I will not apologize for it. What we are watching with him is nothing short of magical. And extremely dominant. 78 PGA Tour wins. 14 Majors. Sorry you're not a fan, every great has haters...always have always will. Respectfully, you did not drone on and on over 2 pgs about Sergios choke job. You did mention twice in 2 sentences about not caring about the drop that you thought was bad.
Even if he re-teed, do you not think he'd double bogey? Confused, but not surprised by your disdain.
    Go Tiger.

I like tiger to win the british and pga..not sure he can win the us open since he still cant find the shortgrass consistantly with his driver and 3 and 5 woods..US open rough is usually 2-3 inches..But the greens are lighting fast and he is the best putter by far...We havent seen the best tiger 3.0 yet (3 swing changes)...a lock to beat jacks major records..hes banging again and the intimidation factor is back...

tigers lovers always jump into the fray to defend their so called hero. This guy throws out all these stats to show you how much he loves him.He must have them taped to his bedroom wall and stare at them. Waiting to use them at any slight aimed at his "hero".tiger is still an asshole on the course, treats fans like shit. But hey "winning takes care of everything".Maybe, for the lovers.

Respectfully, you did not drone on and on over 2 pgs about Sergios choke job. You did mention twice in 2 sentences about not caring about the drop that you thought was bad.
Even if he re-teed, do you not think he'd double bogey? Confused, but not surprised by your disdain.
    Go Tiger.

it doesn't trouble me ... i'm just responding to people who are asking me questions ... like you ...

i just find it hilarious that you guys will defend him no matter what ... yeah, i believe he took a bad drop ... based on replays, live commentary and the course layout and physics ... but i get it - you're a non-apologetic fan and any comment that remotely discredits him you're gonna pipe up ...

i do love how you pull out meaningless stats tho ... best score in his final rd pairing in his last 22 wins ... obviously, he won those tournaments so he HAD to play better than his playing partner OTHERWISE he probably wouldn't win! ...:lol: ...

but i'll throw you a bone ... tiger is a great golfer ... the best? ... maybe ... i don't particularly care for the guy and i am not a fan ... but i don't root against him ... just so you know that when i say he took a bad drop it isn't because i hate the guy ... it's because that's what i believe based on the evidence i saw ... i would have said the same if it was bubba (who is a guy i do cheer for) ...
tigers lovers always jump into the fray to defend their so called hero.
    Keep on lovin', lovers.

LOL - go to the Masters discussion, I AGREED with you RoughMix about him being DQ'd originally.
Non-apologetic fan? I just don't get it guys...not sure why it bothers you that I am a fan.
Stats don't lie. In fact they put into perspective FACT how unreal what we are witnessing with this man.
    Asshole on the course? Maybe.
    He is not my "hero"
I don't have pictures of him taped to my wall.
These forums have really declined in recent years and you guys are a major reason why. Why does every discussion turn into name-calling, or ridiculous statements instead of simple discussion. If I am disrepectful or nasty to you, please have at it. Check the responses. No such tone happened.
I get it, along with others you dislike Tiger. Fine. Doesn't change his place in history. Doesn't change his dominance. But if you come here to have a discussion or rebuttal, why the nasty insinuations and insults?
Bottom line, you don't root for him. But why bash the guy at every turn or have at it with others who are fans?
