I mean the euros are just such legitimate babies. You think no one said shit to tiger after his divorce about that shit. Grow up… you win the Ryder cup and it’s all you can talk about. There is clearly such a cultural divide between European and American golf. Not saying one is right or wrong. Obviously people in Europe play golf for the sport, which is incredibly cool, and in America it’s for that but also massive recreational, socializing and drinking. I enjoy both. I can play a match at a beautiful world class course and also enjoy 10 drinks with my friends, bullshitting without keeping score and taking an uber home. I think golf is better off that it can be both.
I’m not defending the over the top stuff but sure seems like they were awfully sensitive. Was an incredible showing today for the US. Very glad this won’t remembered as an absolute stomping. It’s insane that the widest margin going into Sunday turned into the closest score since 2012 (also a Sunday turnaround, though they completed it)0 -

This being played on Long Island I am sure the crowd was nothing short of cosmopolitan...
I did enjoy the tiff between the Bryson caddy and Rose. That was interesting.0 -

The US crowd embarrassed itself too many times to count. Obviously not the majority of fans, but enough of them. I'm not weeping for the loss.0

The key point is that at a US golf tournament, the fans are literally two feet away from the players. And people pushing for position. I know of know no other major sport where the fans are that close with a grounds pass. That is a blessing and a curse. Like many things here in NY, do not be mad when some person lowers a shoulder to get ahead of you. Ever been out to the Waste Management Tournament in Arizona? It is just words Rory. Take your 100m and say thank you.0

Why defend poor behavior? The Waste Management was a drunkenness problem, and not so much vile words if I recall. Waste has an issue they need to fix.It is possible to go to an event and not yell stuff about someone’s family. But people drink too much or they are super immature. Many said it made them uncomfortable as fans as well.0

End of the day Keegan captained a team that was 1.5 points away from winning the Cup. The points just came on the last day.I still think it is on the players. They showed up on Sunday.Post edited by bootlegger10 on0

I think there is a competition for whose fans are better too. But yeah, not crying any tears for these players, but do feel bad for the families that have to hear it. The price of being close to a wealthy pro athlete.0
