pracitce round isn't too bad but if this had been badges...Dog eats tickets to Masters golf tournament
SEATTLE (AP) -- Russ Berkman's dream came true when he won a lottery for four passes to Wednesday's practice round at the Masters golf tournament in Georgia. But the Seattle-area resident's stomach turned when he found his dog, Sierra, had eaten them.
Berkman told KJR radio on Tuesday he was determined to go. His girlfriend told him he had to make Sierra puke.
He induced vomiting and recovered a gooey glob. Then he went to work trying to put about 20 vomit-covered pieces back together.
He says he recovered about 70 percent of the tickets. He took photos and explained the situation to the Augusta National Golf Club as "my dog ate my Masters tickets!"
They reprinted Berkman's tickets and had them waiting for him in Georgia.

can the golfers in this thread explain the rigorous adherance to attire and all that, that most courses have as rules. Ive always felt, and with good reason, the country clubs are racist and sexist and their dress code seems a little much. Why not welcome people to play golf in whatever they want to play in? Enforce all the other rules and regluations of the course, but really banning a band t-shirt or shorts?
Same with the refusal of the country clubs specifically Augusta to not allow women to join. And the excuse given that its a private company so they can make up their own rules. No other organization or buisness in America could get away with this. If you started up your own computer company, and owned it privately, you couldnt ban women from applying or working there. Nor could you ban women from being customers at the computer company store. What would they expect to happen if women joined the country club? Seems to me its an old boys club just like other insitutions likes the military and politics. Its kind of like the fear of women in religion, or the fear of women becoming priests or rather preistesses.
certainly tiger's promience and success in golf opened the door to alot of folks, but I still think by and large golf is still elitist, sexist, racist, and
Id like to see golf open to all people, of all genders and colors, but also have the game be affordable. I have a friend who works at a pretty prestigious golf course in newport beach. i forget if its pelican hill or if it was someplace else, but i remember the dues were absurdly high.0 -

Answers are simple for you......
Golf is open to all people, of all genders and colors. Golf is VERY affordable. Go play a city, public course you can wear all the PJ shirts and shorts you want. Golf at a nice course is a respectable game and you should dress accordingly.
Augusta is a "club", even if they say a company. You don't just walk up and say you'd like to join. They have to invite you to join. When you bought your Apple computer, I doubt you walked up to them and said excuse me do I meet the criteria to buy your shit? You had the money, so you bought it. It don't work that way for "clubs".
Golf is a classy game....but EVERYONE can play at some level.
