Finally did it and started taking lessons.  Had a horrific round 3 weeks ago followed by 2 terrible range sessions where I wanted to quit playing golf.  It turns out I was doing just about everything wrong!  It's amazing how much of a difference a few tweaks with setup and other small things can make.  Been wanting to do this for years and glad I finally did.
Lessons make a huge difference.  I take a few every year because even after you fix core problems, you start to fade back or develop new issues.  Plus it takes forever to fix the muscle memory.  You'll probably feel better about your game even if your scoring doesn't improve dramatically.  At least that's how it has been for me, because my short game is still a work in progress.

    Looks great, Wob.

My back is finally feeling better again and I had the chance to play a private course nearby yesterday. Beautiful course and the threat of rain kept all the members away. We dodged some rain drops here and there but it was not bad at all. Such a relaxing, easy going round when you have literally nobody in front of you or behind you. Played pretty well too. That always helps.

Holed out for eagle on the last hole of a tournament a couple weeks ago. First time I've ever holed out like that. I was 104 yards out.

    Yeah, Par 3 7th hole.
(That's not me. My swing isn't as pretty as that.)

Awesome. I hear the random public courses are very nice and fun.

No shame in that. My body doesn’t go in that position anymore

Well, he is Irish. Played at a D2 school in the states.

I'd probably shoot a 200 on this course at almost 8,000 yards with this kind of wind. Jesus.

    Wagers anyone?

I got Spieth to finish ahead of Bryson +100
    Rory to win at +1200
Then I took Bryson, Spieth, DJ, and Rahm all to make the cut at +150. One of those odds boosters on DK.

I have money on Keegan Bradley, Jon Rahm, and Brooks Koepka....all to win. Bradley and Koepka are off to good starts.

Edit: And I just threw $50 to win $50,000 on Y.E. Yang.

    Played 18 this morning.

    Front nine - 50
    Back nine - 37

Couldn’t find the fairway on the front but somehow played my best nine ever on the back.

Have bets on Rory, Hovland, Berger and Homa to win.  Also took Bryson to miss the cut.  The wind on this course is wild.

It's amazing how you look at a round differently if you flip flopped the two nines...Finishing strong is always a good time, no matter what the front nine looks like. At least to me.

Only have my one and done pool...Bryson.

Will probably pop into some draftkings lineups over the next few days, which I get smoked in, always.

Without a doubt.  If reversed I probably wouldn’t have booked two more tee times.

The key thought for the turnaround was choosing as small a target as possible.  A leaf or branch of the tree.  Visualizing.

Speaking of Tiger, and gambling for that matter, next summer, I'm going to owe my father $100. I doubt my father even remembers it, but in the early 2000's, I bet him that Tiger would break Jack's major record by the time Tiger turned 47 (Jack won his 18th at age 46). Tiger turns 47 in December 2022. There will be six majors played between then and now, and Tiger (15 majors) would have to win four. It's unlikely he even plays in four by December 2022, let alone wins four.
