I grew up a few miles from that course. The town of Dublin used to be nothing but farmers; now it's nothing but money.Cliffy6745 said:Alright, gotta get this bad boy going now that we have another big tournament this weekend. Cool to see Bowditch win last weekend. Awesome story.
On to Muirfield. I get why Rory isn't in the field, though that was a brutal European stretch, by why isn't Bubba playing?
Think I am getting on the horse this weekend and plopping down some money. If I had known then what I know now...

I always find the course bizarre. Named after Muirfield and designed after Augusta. The course did that to the town?imalive said:

I already hit on Spieth to win the Masters so I doubt I'll hit on another golfer to win a tourney this year, but I'll give Na a shot.Cliffy6745 said:
Damn, that sounds even better. Also took a bunch of other guys on smaller bets. Rose, Fowler, Reed (hate him, but the odds were too good to pass up), Koepka and some other randoms...Indifference71 said:
32/1 on my bookie's site. May have to throw down a little action.Cliffy6745 said:
Yessir. Just went pretty big on Kevin Na. Got him at 28/1 and can't believe he is that low. Playing great and lost in a playoff here last year.Empty Glass said:Fuck Bubba
Looking forward to some good golf this weekend
I like betting the single day matchups for golf. Usually work at home on Thursdays and Fridays so it's nice to just throw on the golf channel in the background and have a little action going.0 -

Doesn't sound like a couple bad days. I was looking at those as well. We'll see how I am feeling tomorrow morning.0 -
Strange round for Tiger0

so i got back into golf last year. this year my driver is finally working for me for the first time ever so i have been playing as much as i can. i am addicted. i go to the range sometimes before work, during lunch, or after work. i've played a shitty 9 hold course right near my house by myself just for practice and have gotten out and played about 6 actual rounds in the last few weeks. i can't get enough of this sport and i want to get better and better. it's driving the wife nuts. yada yada.....
anyway--the last few weeks i've had these weird chest pains. nothing severe but they haven't really gone away. i kept putting it off (originally thought it was gas and then maybe a pectoral strain maybe)....and i was getting more worried that it was something more serious like maybe i suffered a very mild heart attack. i've heard stories of people who that's happened to and they went about their life without even realizing it until after......anywho, it felt worst this week so i bucked up and went to the doctor yesterday. they ran all kinds of tests and they came back fine. the ekg scared the shit out of me. i was lying there while the nurse was reviewing the paper with this expressionless face, which made me more scared. so i nervously asked her "how we looking there?" and she said "the doctor will let you know." wtf?!?! i figured if it looked okay, she should say something or at least give me a wink. something!.....so that freaked me the hell out. but turns out everything was fine.
doc then asks if i've been doing anything differently lately. that's when i told him i've played more golf in the last 5 weeks than i have in my entire life---he then immediately diagnosed me with costochondritus which is basically a strain of the cartelidge connecting the rib cage to the breast bone. it is absolutely nothing serious but it can mimic the feeling of a heart attack.
his prescription: take some advil, stretch more........ and play less golf.
unreal. this shit would only happen to me. hahawww.myspace.com0 -

Dude, the same exact thing happened to me last year except I did it working out. Of course when I really get into going to the gym regularly, the doctor tells me not to. But yeah, fucking costochondritis....my doctor said he sees that all the time. People think it's something with their heart, but it's just some strained cartilage. Really had me freaked out too. So I took about a month off from lifting weights and started stretching a lot more and I've been good for the past year. Good luck with it.The Juggler said:so i got back into golf last year. this year my driver is finally working for me for the first time ever so i have been playing as much as i can. i am addicted. i go to the range sometimes before work, during lunch, or after work. i've played a shitty 9 hold course right near my house by myself just for practice and have gotten out and played about 6 actual rounds in the last few weeks. i can't get enough of this sport and i want to get better and better. it's driving the wife nuts. yada yada.....

Dude...when I called for the appointment, the automated recording said "if you're experiencing chest pains, hang up and call 911 immediately!" I was basically expecting the doctor to tell me I had a heart attack. What a relief.Indifference71 said:

I did ice it a little bit and that seemed to help. My doctor prescribed me 800mg of ibuprofen and that really helped. The Juggler said:

Not what I was expecting when opening golf thread.. Without reading all hope everyone is ok..
Why can't tiger hit the short grass? I think switching to the subtle fade really fucked up his game. He can't shape anymore..and is not even close. He looks like me when I try to draw the ball..the term snap hook comes to mind"Going where the water tastes like wine!"0 -
I've said it before, will say again. If you are dominating the world, don't change your swing. I understand he'd have killed himself by now with some of those shots he'd take, but he completely reshaped his swing too often. His head is too big. I'm joining Rob's train, fuck'em. I'm sick of hearing all the bullshit.Wma31394 said:Not what I was expecting when opening golf thread.. Without reading all hope everyone is ok..
