You know, the environmental impact study part of this never even entered my thinking until a few weeks ago. And it’s a very important point.

I hadn't either. it's pretty damning on its own. it really should be damning enough to stop all discussion about it, even without all of the other negatives associated with this nonsense.

It’s one of the most important points, but it won’t resonate with those who want to bring coal back.

Saudi sisters whose bodies were found bound together near Hudson River died by suicide
Tala Farea, 16, and Rotana Farea, 23, had reportedly made statements they would harm themselves rather than return to Saudi Arabia.
    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/saudi-sisters-whose-bodies-were-found-bound-together-near-hudson-n961541
on the day before the bodies were discovered, she received a call from an official at the Saudi Arabian Embassy, ordering the family to leave the U.S. because the daughters had applied for political asylum.

Good question.  Neither do I.  On the service it seems absurd...but then again these kids don't have a true process.  Hmmm...

I'm not sure how anyone could not be okay with ensuring that the youth in America get a good education so that they can contribute to the success of America later.

One side being that some college grads already have 100k+ in student loans ( I think the average is about 40k) and often take 20 years to pay off. Paying for illegal immigrants when our own citizens can't afford it doesn't make any sense to me.

That’s my thinking too. No way I am for college aid for illegal immigrants.

I don't think free/reduced/subsidized college education for illegal immigrants should even be on the table when the average citizen is in tens of thousands in debt, can't afford health care, goes into huge debt for our own school. Once all that is solved and we can live comfortable lives (comfortable being financial freedom and not the stress of paycheck to paycheck) then sure, discuss the possibility to helping others and pay for their education. But not before then.
I'm not going to ask the family that is on welfare to pay for my kid to go to private school.

Calling them “culture warriors” and “terrorists” is equally idiotic in my opinion, though...

I can tell you I don't. Some investment needs to be paid before dividends are paid to them.

Opportunity should be presented. Immigrants need to work. First generation immigrants need to accept (and be appreciative of) a modest lifestyle- hopefully paving the way for an easier time for the second and third generation.

I speak to the efforts of my Ukrainian grandparents that uprooted from Kiev and immigrated to Saskatchewan. They weren't afforded much outside of opportunity. They had it rough. But they provided a wonderful opportunity for their children and subsequent generations that I know Baba was proud of.

My ancestors are Irish and Lithuanian and did it the legal way. Sorry bud I am a rule follower, do it legally and play along the same rules as every other citizen of the country. Does Canada reward illegal citizens with college scholarships?
