Whoa just whoa i had a blast last night from preparty to show to afterparty it was a night i won't soon forget i loved everything about the set tonight no complaints at all , plus Sir Mike pointing at me and giving me a thumbs up on my Barcelona Messi shirt it was classic, thanks to the best band in the planet and 10C rules ....
in my opinion, not a great show and not a bad show. all in all, there were some songs that I would have liked to hear but I'll take what we got last night. I had been joking with my friends for the last 2-3 weeks that I was going to win the ticket lottery, and to my delight, i did!
i got section 3 row k, which was 10th row i believe.
good times in hartford and now looking forward to boston tomorrow night.
Ever since my 1st listen of Backspacer. The 1 song I couldn't wait to hear live the most was Unthought Known. When I heard the 1st notes being played.........I knew it was going to be yet another kick ass show I was lucky enough to attend. Thank you for the great seats 10 club!
Rest your voices today my fellow Bostonians. Let's remind the boys tomorrow that before Philly (10/31/09) Boston held the unofficial title of being the best East Coast crowd ever (July 03 & Sept. 04).

There are simply no words for what it was like to hear Ain't Talkin 'bout Love. Mike's tagged YL with it, he's played the first lick a number of times, but to hear the song in its entirety was a treat for all time. They absolutely nailed it, and if anyone can do EVH, it's Mr. McCready. It was simply brilliant. I had to sit for like 10 minutes because my body was just overloaded.
Anyone find it ironic that they chose one of Diamond Dave's most mysoginistic lyrics to honor a women's basketball team?
What happened to ya last night Chris? We were looking for you at the pre-party...
My friend and I got to Hartford at quarter to 6, went to the box office to get my tickets, and then went to Black Bear. We met up with his aunt and uncle, who had been there since 2. We were only in there for 10-15 minutes. Was my name on a paper or something?

Yep. We had a baseball game at 2 and didn't end until 4:45, so that's why I wasn't able to really be there. Did they have my name on a sign in sheet or something? We left Black Bear around 6:15 and managed to get a poster and shirt before 6:30; barely a line. We went where the front of the arena is with all the steps.

Nah, I don't think there was a sign in sheet. People were kinda just coming up and introducing themselves. Glad you made out okay. The reason I'm asking is I think youngster brought something for you and wanted to give you it at the pre-party. PM him if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Really excellent show. Great energy and vibe all around. The crowd was alive and buzzing. That always is an important thing to have to make for a good show. The XL Center was a much better place to see a concert than I expected. The sound was good and the band was feeling good. They sounded great. Really on. Ed didnt seem to be sloppy. They didnt fucking around. They just wanted to play the music. Aint Talking About Love was a great surprise. People said the Hartford 08 show was the best of the 08 tour. It was a good show and probably a better setlist, IDK. But IMO the band sounded a lot better than they did at the 08 show. It was nice not to have Ledbetter closing the show. Although, I dont really like their version of All Along the Watchtower. Cant wait for Boston & both MSG shows!

Just got back from last night's show. Had a sick time with my friend who this was his FIRST PJ show ever. Sat Stone's side 11th row. To my disbelief, the people next to me.....older...like 60....were taking turns falling asleep. It disgusts me when people with such good seats do not enjoy the show. People would kill for seats like that. Anyways, I was the guy standing on my seat holding the PJ PORCH license plate.
What an enjoyable evening.
the crowd, the sound and the band were just perfect
Definitely not my favorite setlist, but I have absolutely nothing to complain about.
The VH cover was without question the highlight of the evening for me-especially since I actually saw the old van halen play that song in that building circa 1984.
Great concert. And fuck the meadows-I dont care if its august, play the XL center again please.
I had such an amazing time last night. The crowd was totally pumped and this really fed energy to the band. The boys were just on fire.
When they pulled out Van fuckin Halen I thought I'd seen it all but that was amazing.
Thank you 10C for my 10th row center lottery tickets and for trusting that I was me w/o a photo ID.
Been to many shows. Went to Cleveland and Buffalo this week as well. That being said this was the best show I ever saw! It was a McCready tribute show really. He played so many long solo's and just ripped this show up. He was the highlight! He played Van Halen amazing as well. To hear State of Love and Trust and Crazy Mary in the encore with them finishing to Indifference and All Along The Watch Tower just awesome. Ed sounded great as always and band was so good. Blown away and so worth a week of sore legs and little sleep. Plus this old building was great. Small with steep rows so you see over the guy in front of you while standing with no problem. Like you were right on top of the band.
Excellent show. Crowd was awesome, the band fed off it, and it translated into one of the best shows I've seen. Heard Nothingman and Speed Of Sound for the first time, and as noted, the VH cover was great (you gotta love Ed and his "ototo"). Just an epic time, comfortable and exciting all at once. Thanks for the great 10C seats, thanks to the band, and thanks to greatest fanbase in the world.

Last night's show was proof that the set list does not tell the whole story. They played nothing from Binaural or Riot Act and played only one each from No Code and Avocado. On paper, you might look at the set and say it was disappointing. . . but, if you were there, you know that the show could not have been any better! The band's energy was so powerful. My wife commented very early on in the show that it was obvious that the guys were all in a great mood. Their playing and Ed's singing was flawless. Just amazing! No one has mentioned how great Stone was. He was on fire! I loved hearing Evolution so early in the set. I think it helped set the stage for a stellar performance. I could go on and on. Can't wait for tomorrow night! Hoping for In My Tree. But, I have learned to not be so obsessed with the set list. Last night was a real eye opener.
Not sure if it happened or not, but I could have sworn that sometime during the show (I'm forgetting which song) I saw Stone getting up from the floor like he had just fallen down or something. I was focused on Mike so it took me a while to register what I think I was seeing.
Anyone?
Sorry if I'm a bother.
Nope, you weren't seeing things. I think it might have been during Alive: Stone walked over to Mike's side and sat down on the floor, then Mike sat down with him. It was awesome! I got a blurry picture of it.
Thanks! It's just one of those things that has been bugging me all day. I wonder if anyone got video of it (not that it's a big deal or anything, I'm just curious to see the whole thing).
Get Right always has it right!! Of course it was a great show. PJ always delivers. A little too much Backspacer. Amongst the Waves is a mood killer. Gonna See My Friend is a nice tune but didn't love it closing first set. SOLAT, Nothingman, Indifference, Porch and VH cover were my favorites.
Got tickets to Hartford on a whim well after 10 club tix were gone, so ended up behind the stage (section 109). wouldn't want to sit there all the time, but for this crowd, we might have had the best seats in the house. Just watching everybody on the floor made my night, and we had a great view of Boom for Crazy Mary which was probably my highlight.
I want to especially thank the guy who was front row just to Eddie's left with a black shirt and, I think, a yellow "hang loose" hand on it. Don't mean to sound like a creeper, but I loved watching you rock out all night!
It's easy to grin, When your ship comes in, And you've got the stock market beat. But the man worthwhile, Is the man who can smile, When his shorts are too tight in the seat
Hartford rocked...again!
What a great night. Mike and Stone down on their knees playing together.
Not sure what has gotten into Stone but he is so much letting loose....I love it.
Not just a boot, we need a DVD.
Justin Hampton poster.....WOW.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
