Not sure if it happened or not, but I could have sworn that sometime during the show (I'm forgetting which song) I saw Stone getting up from the floor like he had just fallen down or something. I was focused on Mike so it took me a while to register what I think I was seeing.
Not sure if it happened or not, but I could have sworn that sometime during the show (I'm forgetting which song) I saw Stone getting up from the floor like he had just fallen down or something. I was focused on Mike so it took me a while to register what I think I was seeing.
Anyone?
Sorry if I'm a bother.
Nope, you weren't seeing things. I think it might have been during Alive: Stone walked over to Mike's side and sat down on the floor, then Mike sat down with him. It was awesome! I got a blurry picture of it.
I was in section 119 row P for the entire show. It was my fourth PJ show, and yet again I was completely blown away. I was at Hartford '06, Camden 2 '08, and Hartford '08, and like everybody else has said, something about this show was special. Loudest crowd I've ever seen at a Pearl Jam show, everybody was screaming the lyrics (me included) the entire night and the band really fed off of the energy in an incredible way.
I loved Unthought as an opener as its my favorite song off of Backspacer, and then the trio of Courduroy, DTE, and Got Some was FIRE. I thought the main set had a weird kind of up and down feel to it, with Low Light and Nothingman (both of which were huge highlights for me). Satan's Bed was really cool as was Satan's Kitchen and they COMPLETELY fucked up the begininning of Gonna See My Friend, but it was still and awesome way to end the set.
The encores were also incredible. Ed's little back and forth about the signs was hilarious and both of the backspacer songs to start the first encore were really cool by me. Like some other people have said, each encore could've use another song or two, but I'm not complaining. They brought the fire yet again and I am really lucky to have been in attendance at both of the past Hartford shows!

Wow...what an awesome show!!! I had so much fun last night!!! The highlights for me was Nothingman and Indifference!! The band was on fire and very sharp.
I have a very high 10 Club # but I still had very decent seats in the lower level with a perfect view of the stage. I just want to thank the 10 Club for the seats and I was very happy that I was able to attend this show!!! Bring on Boston!!!
This concert was such a crazy experience for me. I had gotten my 10C tickets to MSG Friday, but the site crashed for me when I was trying to get my Hartford tickets and I ended up screwed on that one. Then my [wonderful] husband screwed up the public on-sale time when I left him in charge of the buying, so long story short, we had the worst seats EVER! But I have seen them 9 times, and since I had MSG tickets, I didn't sweat it...I figured it would be a fun opportunity to sort of see them in a different way, and I was right. It was pretty cool, actually!
First of all, we were up in the highest area on the side...the dropped ceiling was about 10 feet over our heads. This caused a terrible echo...when Ed talked we couldn't really understand what he was saying. On the other hand, the way the sound was set up, we got this echo from all of Mike's solos that was really really awesome sounding...It was sort of otherworldly and I just sat back and enjoyed it.
It was very strange sitting with non-10C members, especially with such an awesome setlist. I would say the only songs everyone around us knew were Jeremy and the two covers! haha. People were giving me really weird looks for singing along to Indifference, which was funny, and when I got up to pee during Evenflow (a safe bet for me), these dudes were like, "Where are you going? This is their most famous song?" haha. It was also kind of fun to hear a bunch of these people exclaiming, "This is amazing," or "These guys know how to do it," like it was a big surprise for them.
On a personal note, my husband and I found out two weeks ago that we're expecting our first baby...I have been really sick with morning sickness (except in my case it's all day sickness!) and we can't tell anybody yet because it's so early...anyway, it was a battle to even get to the show because I've been so ill, but I was determined, and I had a few very very special moments thinking about my history with the band and how excited I am to introduce them to the next generation! I've been listening to Unthought Known a lot, and thinking about the baby...I told my husband I really hoped they'd play that and when they opened with it I just started crying. Meanwhile some of the dilettantes around me thought it was a cover. hahaha.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun and a different experience. Van Halen was definitely a highlight. Can't wait for MSG!

Wow. What a great night. Thanks to Fenway Faithful and his 10C # I was lucky enough to be on the floor. Section 4 Row 4. Best seats I have ever had ever. The show was unreal. I got to hear Nothingman which has been my favorite PJ song for about a decade. Speed of Sound was a treat. As was All Along the Watchtower. The whole show was awesome, what can I say. Can't wait to hear the boot.
Can I say that Band of Horses sounded great. Really got a lot of love from the folks who came early to see them. Played 3 songs off the new album.
An incredible night that will be hard to top in the next few shows.

WHAT A SHOW. This was my 7th of the tour so far and it was by far the best. MIKE WAS EN FUEGO ALL NIGHT!
My home state (CT) was the only show I didnt get Ten club tix for and was in Sec. 204 but it was still an incredible evening.
When I walked in and saw the Hampton poster I was floored. That and the Burwell are TOPS!
I knew they soundchecked a v. halen song but didnt know which one. When Ed started talking about doctors I immediately started shouting "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" but was even more shocked when they broke out Aint Talkin.
somebody please post a youtube vid of end of even flow>nothingman...best part of the show for me
i had heard every song they played last night before, except van halen, but thats b/c i've seen some amazing shows - can't take shots at the band for that - def still one of the best shows ive ever seen certainly from a crowd/energy standpoint...but being on the floor helps too...10C #363xxx...25th row aisle stone's side SECTION 4 BABY

I had to bury my aunt yesterday morning. Didn't leave NY til 5:30. 3 hour drive to Hartford. Checked in the hotel around 8:15 and parked the car without even going to my room. Ran over to pick up my Ten Club tickets. Luckily there was no line. I was scared after the stories I read about Hartford in 08. Missed out on a poster by a minute in 2 booths and only Large hoodies. One guy wanted to sell me a stained one at a booth.
Was walking to my seats during Unknown Thought. Slipped and fell on someone's split beer in the aisle. I think it was the chick walking infront of me down the aisle who spilt the beer. Who had the balls to say stop pushing me. Cursed her out. Then realized I was one section off and had to walk back up to 115 in order to get to the floor. Got to my seats on the aisle center stage on Stone's side 12 rows back just as Unknown Thought was ending.Have a bruise the size of Texas on my lower back/ass.
Took my sister to her 1st Pearl Jam show after promising her for years and not taking her cause of only getting 2 tickets through Ten Club. She got up rite before Jeremy to get a drink and actually found the last 2 XXL hoodies and the last poster in the place after saying to the woman behind the booth I have a stupid question. Do you have any posters left ? And said said yes and took it from behind the counter and said we didn't know we had one left until 30 minutes ago.
So after having to bury my aunt. Getting to see one of the best PJ shows I've experienced was very therapeutic. Hearing Dissident, Lowlight, I Got Shit(1st time), Satan's Bed, Lukin,AINT TALKIN ABOUT LOVE, Crazy Mary, Indifference, and AATWT. I Didn't want the show too end and I think the band could have played 2 hours more that is how into the crowd they were. Great crowd and a perfect night. I'm going to Newark and both MSG shows. But the bar was set high tonight. I'm not sure they can reach it. But sure hope they do.
I was RIGHT next to you when you fell (Sec 114, row K end seats) and that looked like it really hurt. I have no idea if the girl in front of you was the "beer spiller" or not but you sure gave her an earful once you got back on your feet! Anyway, sorry about the start to your day (and the show) but at least it seems that your day ended on as much of a high as it possibly could have.
Anyway, AWESOME and very memorable show (my 24th). Eddie was a total wild man all night and I knew we were in for a good night when it didn't take any time at all for him to praise the high energy crowd, and then proceeded to break his microphone from swinging it around only a couple songs in and then remarking something along the lines of "I've broken these before, but usually not this early on in a show".
Random notes:
1) Unthought Known for opener - was hoping for Long Road, Hard to Imagine, Wash, Release, etc - one of the "typicals". Didn't mind this choice though because it is (and always will be) my favorite song off of Backspacer.
2) Set was REALLY Backspacer heavy (7 songs played I think). Again, didn't mind it, but would have loved not having some of the middle albums totally ignored.
3) I thought some of the jams tonight were especially great. Songs like Corduroy, Porch, Crazy Mary, Alive, and Jeremy which I've likely heard several times each just all sounded better tonight for whatever reason. I credit the crowd inspiring the band, truthfully.
4) Setlist highlights - nothing that hasn't been said on this thread already, but I Got Shit, Low Light, Nothingman, Satan's Bed, Indifference, SOLAT, and of course the random VH cover (a song I never cared for until last night!) were the unquestionable highlights.
5) The "Black, Red, Yellow" signs I thought were at least a good try...but it may take an entire venue wearing only black, red, and yellow t-shirts before that ever happens for us.
6) My neighbors - 114 (right side, front 8 or so rows at least) seemed to be really enjoying themselves and into it the whole night. A girl behind me spilled some beer on my head/shirt at some point very early on, was extremely apologetic, and rewarded me with a delicious Bud Light for apparently being very "who cares!" about it. So...thanks for the beer - a very nice and truly unnecessary gesture. Also, right after AATWT, as the band exited the stage for the final time Jeff came over and said something and shook the hand of the girl in the green t-shirt who was in the front row of our section. We were all wondering what that was about afterward...anyone know? One lucky girl, nonetheless...
7) Thanks 10C for the great seats! When I picked them up I thought they were rather lousy (192XXX) having never been to this venue before, but when I actually got to them and found out that row K was the 4th row I was immediately more content.
Can't wait for Newark and both MSG's!!! Going to be one hell of a week.
can not believe the time we had. Hartford was amazing. Glad we opted to stay the night and party it up. Crazy times! this show had energy like I have never seen. Just right up in your face from start to end. I can not wait for Boston but yet said there is no Boston 2. I am just spoiled people. I admit it. I acknowledge it. I am selfish. BUT DAMN IT I WANT A BOSTON 2 NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You lucky people of Newark. Be Well. Monday night here we come!!!!!!!
Songs I loved hearing...I Got Shit, Just Breathe, State of Love & Trust and the highlight of the evening..."Ain't Talkin' Bout Love" Van Halen cover!!!
Good setlist, great crowd, great energy from the stage...unfortunately this did not beat the 2008 Hartford Show. I don't think anything will. I didn't get nearly the same vibe.
I'm looking forward to next Friday's MSG II show.

Killer crowd!!!!
That pretty much covers it
If ed thought that crowd was electric he's in for a treat in Boston.
with only one show we are going to be going nuts.
If the crowd is anything like 6-28-08. oh boy!!
I've been to quite a few shows over the last 14 years or so, PJ and many others.
I don't know if I've ever seen a crowd that on fire before. The boot didn't do us justice(as usual)
But, why go and betterman should give you a good taste of what it was like.

This was my third show (first of the tour) and it was incredible! I Got Shit, Crazy Mary, and Dissident were huge gems for me. Can't ask for a much better set.
I just want to say that before the show, I left my ATM card in a machine close to the arena. As me and my girlfriend were getting settled into the arena, I realized I didn't have my card. Thankfully the security guard let me leave and re-enter to try and find it. It turns out that someone found my card and left it with security in the building of the ATM. Assuming this was a Pearl Jam fan and 10C member, I would just like to thank you for turning it in instead of what any low life dirtbag would do. If this was you that did it and turned it in, if you're going to MSG, drinks are on me buddy!
It just goes to show how PJ fans truly look out for one another and are just a one of a kind fanbase. Keep rockin' and respecting one another!
Hi, I host a Pearl Jam Podcast. We go back to some of the classic shows in their history and break down the entire setlist front to back. From historic perspective, to performances, to setlist construction, to fan stories. We do our best to capture the magic that is their live act and help you relive those memories, or if you weren't there, maybe turn you on to a show you've never heard before.
Live On 4 Legs can be found on Apple Podcast, Spotify and any other major podcast platform. But please support our website and check out the episodes archived there. Oh, and the Concertpedia as well (for you Five Horizons and Two Feet Thick fans, we've picked up where they've left off)

Hey Black Diamond!! I was sitting next to you at the show. Great times!! Hope to see ya at the next tour!!
As for the show....all I can say is WOW!! I've been to about 10 shows and this is in the top 3 with Ft. Lauderdale 1996 and Philly 4.
The crowd and band were on top of their game last night and it made for an incredible night.
Thanks PJ for another great show!!
Top tier show folks, top tier show...
