    Counsell won't return to the Brewers and isn't taking the Mets job. But will go to a team that already has a manager

    That sucks for Ross. The Cubs are coming off a rebuild and he won't get to enjoy what could be a good team in a not so tough division

    As a Cubs fan it needed to happen and I think we'll be better off for it. LOVE Ross and what he means to the organization overall, and not really sure about the move to make Counsell the highest paid manager but he's displayed the ability to do more with less so I'm excited about the possibilities nonetheless.

    Cubs fans can look forward to getting to the playoffs with Counsell.  They can also look forward to CC adding a Jesse Winker type player to the playoff roster (who hadn't had a hit since July) and putting him critical situations on multiple nights so he can poop in his pants.

    I believe they would have made the playoffs if Ross had stayed. I believe he saw the Cubs getting better and their players probably have more potential. Probably doesn't think the Brewers will get any better

    Looks like he's trending down. Gonna be 31. Don't know if he has another gear. He's the type of player the Marlins would sign when Mattingly was the manager.

    I thought they loved Rossy. Plus, they paid Counsell as if he was Bruce Bochy...

    Wash was great for the Braves, especially developing the young infielders. I hate to see him leave.
