    :-)

jags are 5-4 now. so i think we're 3-2 against teams with winning records at this point. what's the issue here again?

the cowboys have 2 wins all season.

    game over.

I like your optimism. Unfortunatley (for you), I do not believe 9 wins will get you an NFC Wild Card this year.

Besides, you guys will get killed by the Saints Thursday. (in reality, you guys are always tough on the Saints)

Have to admit I've enjoyed the way the team has responded to the change. It just bugs me that it took something like that to wake them up.

At any rate, whatever happens the rest of the season, I have come to LOVE watching Dez Bryant play. He has been incredible over the past few games. I believe he'll be a dominant player for a long time. As dominant as anyone we have had around here in a a long time.

Agreed. Every time we get inside the red zone, I think they should at least throw 1 jump ball to him. I was telling someone yesterday that I think Dez would come down with 90% of jump balls thrown his way. The kid is a beast!

I'm dreading playing the Cowboys because I know Brian McCann will hit a big 3-run homer off Lidge.

ha... i still think we split with them just because of the matchups.........then again the first game will have the birds coming off the thursday game with 10 days to prepare. that is what reid does best.

then the last game of season will mean a whole lot to us. cowboys will be long dead by that point. we'll obviously have more to play for. who knows, maybe the birds will sweep.

Really, Wade? You really think you should be mentioned in the same breath as Landry?!:lol::lol:

Wade Phillips points out his similarity to Tom Landry

Nice guys aren’t always humble. For example, former Cowboys, Bills, and Broncos coach Wade Phillips, who now has been fired from three NFL head-coaching jobs, engaged in a little back-patting during a Monday night interview on WXTG radio in Virginia Beach.

Appearing on The Bruce Smith Show, Phillips explained that getting fired from a head-coaching job makes it harder to get another head-coaching job, regardless of any success the coach has had as a head coach.

And Wade pointed out that he has had plenty of success.

“The perception is once you’re fired that you’re not a very good head coach,” Phillips said. “It happened to me in Buffalo. We were 29-19 in Buffalo. Once I was fired there I couldn’t get a head-coaching job because they thought, you know, I wasn’t a good enough coach. They didn’t look at my record, they just said, ‘Oh, gosh, he’s fired, so we gotta get somebody else.’ It took me a long time to get another head-coaching job. You know, we went 34-22, which is pretty good. I went out as the same winning percentage of Tom Landry, so I don’t feel bad about my head-coaching career. I think they’re gonna look at me more as a coordinator, and that’s fine with me. I just wanna coach.”

Phillips said he’d like to add to his 34 years in the league, and that he misses the camaraderie and “the great feeling of guys working together.” He thinks there will be an opening for a defensive coordinator “that has a pretty good reputation.”

Phillips, a 3-4 specialist, likely will find work as a defensive coordinator. But regardless of his carer winning percentage from September through December, Phillips’ failures in January will most likely keep him from getting a fourth shot at an NFL head-coaching gig.

Even though they lost. They showed a lot of fight. More than in the wins even.

Would have helped you in the wild card hunt?

Anyway, they made some stupid mistakes but there is no doubt they go out and play for Garrett. This effort was not there for Wade.

Roy Williams pisses me off. Just go down after you get the first down. You get hit from behind and fumble all the time. Dont be greedy.

Also should have went for the 53 yd field goal instead of McBriar kicking the ball off the ground.

Should have busted out a draw in the last minute instead of missing 3 straight pass attempts......get Buehler 5 yds closer.......

Should have challenged the play where the lineman for the Saints intercepted the ball in the first half...........I dont think he ever had possesion.......

    Ah the mistakes......

What a great Thanksgiving day game! The boys kept it interesting after it looked like the Saints were gonna run away with it in the 1st qtr.

Good job Cowboys, way to show some pride!

When the defense plays like it did yesterday, it reminds me of how good the Cowboys CAN be! Great win as the Boys are now 3-1 under Garrett and should be 4-0. With the Eagles having 10 days to prepare for us, we need to have a good week of practice to beat them...

I think Choice and Felix Jones are a great tandem and fun to watch. This may be the end of Barber in Dallas....

That was such a fun game to watch. I love the look on Manning's face when he throws picks. hahahahaha

Defense played a lot better, but still had a couple of breakdowns. But not complaining when you have two interceptions run back for TDs.

crazypjfan - I agree. Barber probably won't be back next year. No way he makes that 20 yard TD run like Choice did.

Of course the biggest negative is that is it for Dez Bryant for the season. He fractured his ankle on that kick return. That sucks because he has been by far the best reason to watch this season. Does anyone think when Bryant gets tackled that it is always violent or crazy looking? I mean, he never just gets tackled. Its always 4 guys dragging him down or him flipping over or something goofy. Anyway, sad to see him out.

I hope they are watching plenty of tape on the Eagles because even though they have been winning lately (except against the Bears), Vick is getting banged around. I thought he got hit pretty good Thursday night.

One more thing - this is Garrett's job to lose now. And I am OK with that. I wanted them to hire Payton and not let him walk. Maybe they have their own little Sean Payton right now. Hopefully we get a chance to see.

As a fan, of course I would like them to just go out and lose every game now, but the players aren't going to feel that way if they care one bit about what they do.

I think it is easy for us fans to say that, but I don't think they can just turn it off. They want to win these games.
