The 2 "Hometown" shows in Louisville will be KILLER... BUT these are around the dates for the rumored PJ Toronto shows!! I'll definitely be hitting the Indy MMJ show... it's scheduled for the Thursday before the Indy 500, and I've already got my tickets for the race!!
Wow,that sounds like an incredible weekend! Gotta see these fellas again soon! I hope they play the Pemberton Festival again this year. They did in 2008.
AND this year is the 100th Running of The Indianapolis 500... It's going to be an INCREDIBLE event!!

Always just been a casual fan and never really got into MMJ until very recently. I listened to Okonokos and I am now hooked. This lead me to listen to the rest of their catalog. It is now my mission to see them live.

Second best band I've ever seen live. You can guess the first

Vinyl fans- which MMJ albums should I get as a new fan?
What's your favorite? Are the reissues any good or do I need to get the originals?
Assume I know nothing and am a total newbie. I got okonokos because I've always loved that album and have had it in cd for a few years, but I have nothing else of MMJ.

Where do I start?!
I would tell you to skip their studio albums, and pick up a few recordings from their "archive" series from NUGS. My personal favorites are the 2012 shows from Port Chester, NY... all 3 of the shows from Red Rocks (2 in 2011 & the most recent one from last August) and the Philly '05 show. IF you MUST have a studio album...It Still Moves is my favorite, but NOTHING beats how these guys sound live!!

I've read on the MMJ board that some of the reissues are questionable quality (It Still Moves I remember being mentioned specifically). So, I guess original pressings are the way to go.
Nice, right on. Thanks ya'll you guys are so bad for my vinyl spending disease. I picked up Z and it still moves and Tennessee fire because I had a few moments to spare today at work and when those happen I buy more shit. I'm sure they're all represses because they were really cheap on Amazon.
I saw the rsd one you are talking about too it's an ep 10" which is cool.
I'll get back on here and post how I feel about the vinyl reissues at some point but I appreciate it guys thanks

I was at two of those Port Chester shows, they were incredible. That's one of my favorite venues to catch a show, beautiful theater.
