Yes very true - which bring us to the next topic - the cause and reason the government is trying to get a national id card for everyone (citizens or not). Even with good intentions, the government is so disdained and distrusted (in many respects it's deserved but not all), they can never accomplish all that much even if they aim too. It merely becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

it is ironic that in attempt to save tax payer money and solve crime they crack down on illegal immigrants

however it seems, at least initially, that it is costing them more money and tension in the streets... which leads to more crime

also I hope that AZ residents realize that their money pays for the cops and the jails that will arrest and house the people that are scooped off the streets....

Good point. I think aerial posted a thread about this, which included videos demonstrating how this law is already leading to more crime.

Yeah... how conveniently we choose to ignore our own history. Of course, history is coming back around (or never left), as this law will likely result in the harassment of Native people too. With all the reservations there, Arizona has a huge Native American population. My friends are already talking about needing to get their tribal documents laminated so they can carry them at all times.

Well, Arizona is a racist state, just like the other 49 states. So that arguments means little to me. What does matter to me is that illegal immigration has already spiraled out of control. The main source of the problem is that Mexico has too many people... so do most other countries, to be fair... but Mexico is dominated by Catholics who do as their Pope says and do not use birth control. Which is fucking stupid. In my opinion, it's the people who make stupid decisions who need to deal with the consequences of those decisions. At the same time, I can't blame anyone for wanting to come here illegally when we have been so eager to give workers with questionable documentation the shitty, rotten jobs we don't want. So now we have the situation where we can't control our slaves anymore. What did we expect? We all have to deal with our stupid decisions. I don't think enough of us are smart enough to do that.
