Have you read the Dark Tower series?

I still need to Read Under the Dome and Full Dark No Stars.

YES read Hearts in Atlantis! I have a few friends that aren't really into SK but love this collection.

As far as The Regulators...you should read it before or after Desperation. Both books have the same characters, but they have different personalities in each book and the circumstances are quite different. The way the 2 books play to each other really had my interest piqued and they're actually 2 of my faves from him.

I think I've read all of King's novels, the only book I haven't read is "Danse Macabre", I think. I would put "The Regulators" definitely in the bottom of his books. Not one of my favorites.

I was wondering the same thing! Maybe just so that there was more gore :?: I liked it so far...I haven't read the book in a long time but the part where he goes to 1939 doesn't really happen til much later in the book, right?

Anyway, got my hubby to watch it too even though he's not into SK but he thought it was good so far...except when Mike started having the dreams and the women would turn into dead corpses...he said "what a ripoff of the Shining!" But SK can rip himself off, right?!

Also, I'm not a fan of the guy they cast as Max Devore. He just doesn't look evil enough!

Other than that I'm looking forward to tonight!

    im so stoked...im doing cartwheels....
ok, im not actually doing cartwheels...
i love it though when i find out that they made a movie for the book i'm reading or have read..
anyways..i got a nice jump on Hearts in Atlantis over the weekend...
Read to page 150 last night before going to bed at like 2am, up at 6am for work...
    i know...pg 150 isn't that impressive...but for this book...its a good chunk of reading...
the pages are small print...there's like very, very, very few chapter breaks...its just bulk paragraphs and bulk good reading...
And thanks again for your tips on this thread...so far so good on this being a good book...

Not bad. I didn't remember too much from reading the book. I may have to read it again but I have 3 other King books lined up and I'll receive 11/22/63 in 12 days. I need to catch up. Maybe I can send my kids away for a few months.

    A rough ranking:

    The Stand
    The Shining
    Under The Dome
    Salems Lot
    Desperation
    The Regulators
    The Eyes of the Dragon
    Misery
    Pet Sematary
    The Long Walk
    Carrie
    It
    Rage

I have read most or all of the Short Story collections too. Cant really rank them. A lot of great ones.

Currently reading The Gunslinger. It is a little tough. Does the Dark Tower series get a lot better from there?

YES!!!! The Gunslinger's a little slow moving, but once you get to the end and then on to the 2nd book you will be hooked I PROMISE. Enjoy the ride :) I'm jealous of anyone just starting this series fresh!

I just finished Under the Dome about a month ago and moved right on to 11/22/63. Holy shit this book is unbelievable. I am about 2/3rds of the way through it and seriously have trouble putting it down. I heard Jonathan Demme has the rights to a film version of this. If true and done right, I could see this being a great movie. The book is one of Kings best of all time.

    My faves

    Insomnia
    The Shining
    Tommyknockers
    Salems Lot

Not read many recent books as he seems to have become a bit waffly. He seems to use 20 words when 10 will do. I've still got Hearts of Atlantis upstairs to read and judging by the comments here I'd better get on with it.
