guns are not my fake area of expertise today, but i think this is a M16. i'm sure someone will set me straight if it's not.

    redneck.jpg

Its probably an AR-15, civilian version of the M-16 military weapon. Same basic thing.

One small difference that allows the AR-15 to be legal - it's semi auto. But from what I'm told it's not very difficult to convert to fully auto.

But to be real, it's not as if all tea baggers are gun lovin', god fearin', negro hatin' rednecks. Just Palin and her supporters. :)

and possibly not a real redneck. he spelt all the words right in the sign.

disclaimer. it was actually unsung who made the claim that There isn't one person out there with an M16, unless he is active military. it wasn't me!

fix that quote up please Byrnzie! thank you sir.

but the apostrophe is in the wrong spot ... ;)

Seriously dude....I've seen some of your posts....I know you're not that fucking stupid to believe that's a real pic.

Believe it or not, that could be a genuine anti-tank rifle. These things were used by militaries in the 1930s and 1940s as portable armor-piecing weapons, before bazookas and anti-tank missiles were invented.

Oh I know similar weapons exist, but the whole damn pic is probably the worst photo shop I've ever seen. I mean just look at the guys head for the love of pete.

Wrong. Not only is obtaining the parts very difficult but doing so would send you to prison for a long long time.

That's about the dumbest thing I've read on here. When the tea party murders 3000 innocents come on back. I'd say I can't believe anyone would agree with that statement but it seems there are plenty that do. I can't wait until November when you all eat crow.

Agreed 100%. Its kinda funny how people seem to take a certain amount of pleasure in going on and on about racist rednecks, as if everyone fails to recognize that these people still exist. Of course they do. And there's bigoted African Americans too. Not all these so-called Teabaggers are racists, and I'd guess that its probably a small minority percentage who are actually dangerous.

Re. the AR-15: You can get conversion kits to full auto, and you can also do it in a machine shop with pretty minimal tools, if you know what to file down and where said part is. When I was around ... 15-16 years old, that was our dream. Convert one of these things to full auto ... But some folks don't grow out of the desire to blast away with a machine gun. I'd like to think that in the majority of cases, this is pretty harmless. I'd be stunned if the dude in the purple shorts had ever fired a single shot at a real person, all the macho BS aside.

    ..
Still... you cannot deny the role that firearms play in Tea Party politics... bring guns to Town Hall Meetings, 'Watering the Tree Of Liberty with the blood of the Patriots' sign with a side arm strapped to the waist... Palin calling to 'Reload'. There are a lot of gun references in the Tea Party that fortify the belief that this organization is threatening gun violence on Americans who do not believe as they do.
If they are a small minority in the Tea Party... they aren't scoring any points for the Tea Party. And if the Tea Party wants to legitimitize their message... they need to distance themselves with guns used on the citizenry as tools of Democracy. Otherwise, the Tea Party will look like a wider base of the lunatic fringe that brought us David Koresh and Timmy McVeigh.

You completely missed my point, didn't you? Here, let me explain it to you in terms you might understand...
    ...
    1. You said, "I wish you people would stick to the facts and stop spewing hate and ignorance."
    2. I said, "Thank you. Now, bring up that exact point at your next Tea Party party".
    ...
This means, if you wish that FACTS mattered... and that spewing HATE and IGNORANCE should stop... then, you and the group you support should do the same... base your arguements in FACTS... and stop spewing HATE and IGNORANCE. Hence, granting yourself your own wish.
    Do... you... under... -stand?

So the fact that a Teabagger blogger has already admitted to egging on his followers to break windows all over the place isn't good enough for you?

Here's something for you. Your so called "Tea Party" movement is neither peaceful, regular, nor middle class.

Your group is not peaceful. You've been documented many times involved in disrupting peaceful town hall meetings, shouting down those whom you disagree with including disabled and senior citizens, using extremely violent, threatening, hateful, homophobic, xenophobic, and outright racist language both written and spoken, openly carrying and displaying firearms and other weapons at peaceful gatherings like modern day Pinkerton thugs, and now you've been documented using thuggish and violent tactics, such as spitting at Congressmen and threatening their lives and their families.

Your group is not regular. 74% of you either identity with the Republican Party, or strongly lean towards them. You're almost 90% white. You house within your ranks such outlandish, outrageous ideas such as 9/11 Trutherism, the idea that the President is not a citizen or otherwise ineligible to serve as President, and the idea that our democratic, constitutionally elected republic is something that is evil and deserves to be destroyed. You worship the likes of Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck without holding up their insane and outrageous ideas to the light of open debate, reason, and criticism.

Your group is not middle class. You collude with known corporatist whores like Dick Armey's FreedomWorks and Americans For Prosperity who work to siphon off middle class wealth into the hands of the already ultra rich. You rail against government, which actually protects the middle class of this country, and support tax cuts for the super-rich, who would love nothing more to return us to another Gilded Age where an oligarchy rules, and everyone else serves them at their leisure.

So in other words, you're being played, and your blind, arrogant hatred for anything and everything you don't like is going to drag us all down with you. Meanwhile, the oligarchs pulling your strings are laughing all the way to their bailed out banks and their luxury yachts and gold plated cutlery.
