I am in! I live south of Indy...bout an hour and a half drive and 30 minutes from cincinnati so this venue is great for me. I will FOR SURE be arriving very early. Traffic at Deer Creek is a nightmare to say the least.
i did what i had to do, and if there was a reason it was you
I'm in.. but I am driving back towards Columbus after the show and hoping to find some place cheap/safe NEAR (obviously not IN) Dayton. My flight out of Columbus is at 8:40 AM. That was the only direct flight back to Nashville that day.. Any suggestions of somewhere to stay along the I-70 corridor?
Camping and drinking at campsite all day before show and then after.

I am going to try for Indy tickets...Coming from St.Louis area....Seen pearl jam at same venue back on Riot Act tour..Was an excellent show..My friend that was with me...She was able to get the setlist after the show..It had red wine stains on it..
...but I believe you can "hangout near the tailgate of your car/van", but cops (uniform and undercover) will be around to make sure you are not drinking.

Planning on tailgating may be hard. They seriously change policy on this all the time. Some shows they open the parking early (Buffett, etc), others they don't. Sometimes cops mess with people, other times people are walking up to the gates drinking.
As for IDing people, they ID everyone. They refused to serve my 50 year old mom one year for not having her license.
Mo's is one of the closest restaurants, no real bars at the mall, but it will be packed. They usually have a decent (hour-ish) wait on Fridays without concerts. Barley Island and Mudsocks aren't very close. Probably 30 minutes on concert nights.
There's a cheap bar at 116th and Brooks School called Joe's.

deadcreek campsite not open till dmb show in june
maybe on site deer creek camping? or?
They have onsite camping for very few shows, usually only DMB and Phish and such. There might be a couple of little ones around that are open. There's less than there used to be due to sub divisions and other growth in the area.

Yeah, does anyone know where a good campsite is nearby?
Haven't been to venue in years, but last time I was there, there was a camping area across the street from the deadcreek campsite. This was probably 7 years ago though. I'm sure a lot has changed. I'll try to look into it.

Im planning on coming to this show....I need some help and info though.
I will be staying at the residence Inn Marriott at the Airport and cabbing to the venue. my plane gets in at 4 or 430..i think the venue is like an hour from the airport... I will then be cabbing back to the airport after the show...
For those who live near or know the area, does this plan sound feasible or just plain crazy? I havent committed to anything yet, just trying to work out the logistics.
please help...thanks.

that could be a tight fit...if the exit for the venue is backed up have the cabbie go to the next exit
PM me if you need directions to get to the venue the back way....that would work if traffic is bad

In the present tense.
yep, booked a room as soon as they announced the show, used my "government discount" and got a room at the Cambria Suites for $94!
LOL! love how they mark up the rates so quickly.
Closest place to the venue, also has a bar inside so hopefully this works out!
If you read the website, this seems like it is only an option for the DMB concert.
