I don't know, not sure why I'm sticking up so much for District 9, maybe it just bothers me when I feel people can't look at something objectively. I can almost guarantee that most people's negativity for District 9 and Avatar would be erased if both movies had not received so much critical acclaim. I certainly can relate to movie hype unrealized but at their worst, IMO, the two movies are better than average scifi/action flicks. Miles from worst movie ever.

nope. its the south african accents that will have me not seeing district 9. cant stand it. as for avatar.. it was better than i gave it credit for. i figured with all that talking it up it had to be shit. but i liked it.

die hard 4 was shit imo.

Yeah unfortunately NES I find painful to watch...even as a kid I couldn't ever watch the entire thing, I would go to sleep. Actually the Matrix has the exact same effect on me. (waiting for the daggers to fly!!LOL) That white thing in NES I find a tad disturbing, it's freaky looking, not at all cute to me. :?

I would worry about daggers from not liking "The Neverending Story" more than "The Matrix"! You are insulting people's childhood's!!! I remember being really scared of the wolf/dog at the end.

I agree with you on "The Matrix".

Hey it was of my childhood...I was 5yo when it came out and I went to sleep in the cinema, mum was very impressed that she had forked out $$$ for me to sleep LOL.

But hey we were asked for our OPINION of worst movies, and opinions are like arseholes, everyones got one. ;)

I couldn't finish House of 1000 Corpses, but I didn't start watching it with any expectation of it blowing my favorite horror flicks out of the water.

I LOVE House of 1000 Corpses....but I also wrote a thesis on "bad" horror films, so I've probably got a teensy bias.
The Devil's Rejects was just as great, but nearly everyone I know HAAAATTTEEED it!

I haven't seen The Devil's Rejects yet. And I'm thinking I might give House of 1000 Corpses another shot. I kind of feel like my head wasn't in the right place for it at the time. I love way too many ridiculously shitty, absurd and corny movies to not like it.

Ok I can't decide which of these is worse......Knowing or The neverending story.

oh no... I can never hate any of my childhood movies... so I will always love:

    Never ending story
Legend (as much as I hate Tom Cruise now)
    Willow
    Labyrinth (David Bowie mmm)
    The dark crystal
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream...

undeniably the most pathetic scene I've ever seen in a movie was in Star Wars 2. When they are in the arena to be sacrificed to those beastly creatures, one of them jumps up and claws at Natalie Portman. Well, she is wearing a full white shirt, then after it claws her, her shirt is perfectly cut into a tube top. I almost shit myself laughing when I saw this. How the hell did that make it through the final edit? George , man.. lost ALL repect on that one... :? :x
