I thought the Argentina match was quite good. Except for the Nigerian Goaltender it would have been 4-0.

    Are we talking hockey?

I just think haters of soccer have short attention spans.
Even cricket lovers are short on patience now with all this 20/20 shite.

    your spot on here.

i love cricket..twenty20 is brilliant, its showmanship, great enteraintment ....BUT IS NOT TEST CRICKET.

nothing beats the ashes 5 days of pure battling cricket.we have been spoilt over the last few years of ashes cricket..swings one way then back agian..cant wait for them to start again.

off to a one day on the 30th..pre ashes arsewhipping for the oz's

as for the football was it not the americans that wanted to make the goals bigger and have 1/4 so to have more advert space when they had the worldcup..enough said

Right on! About everything except the Aussie arsewhipping, that's just bollocks!

Last night my friend bet on 3 games.
He placed $10 and got a return of $615.
    Lucky so and so!

The horns are driving everyone nuts. It wouldn't be so bad if they were used when celebrating a goal or when there's a near miss but it's just continuous.

maybe its because of the 1.6 goals per game...people are just trying to keep themselves occupied?

just kidding. i like soccer for the most part.

The ref is screwing up this Portugal/Ivory Coast game, he's very inconsistent.

us brits are fluent in bollocks when it comes to cricket :D

but not so fluent in quoting. ;)

plus its ok to use England only in reference to cricket... 99.9% of Scotland, N.Ireland and Wales couldnt give a shit about it... and rightly so. It's a posh version of baseball with a scoring system that even Rain Man gave up on and went back to calculating the vastness that is Kerry Katonas front bum as that was easier.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Although the England (ECB) team is actually the England and Wales cricket board team ;)

    I like cricket

Yeah, he cannot stay on his feet, it's annoying. Strong finish for Ivory Coast, wish they could have gotten a win.

6 draws out of 13 games. that is kinda boring

but i do think thats due to cautiousness... if you lose your first game you're normally screwed.

As the games move foward the intensity will pick up starting with the USA on Friday. Hopefully some mastery from Brazil, love watching them play.

The opening games are usually like that, and to be honest I've really enjoyed a lot of those draws. It will get more exciting now though. Teams have no choice but to go and win now.

Hopefully Brazil will put on a show tonight.
  • They need to do away with the group stage or they need to make it so they play everyone in the group twice.
