Ok I think there was a thread about this a long time ago and I did a quick search but didn't find it.

WTF would do this to their child??!! They said on the news this morning that one baby was also called Bison...Bison?!! :lol:

    I like names that actually have meaning in our current language... not just a "name noise" or meaning from thousands of years ago. It invokes a certain emotion when you hear it... maybe 'Bison' is a little odd...

    My son's name is Lake. Call me a "hippy" I just like nature-names.

    I like hippy names and maybe some of the names I like others wouldn't but ...some of those are just cruel.

    I saw that Tijuana was a girls name that had been popular.

    It seems wrong to me to name your daughter after a place that is known for Donkey shows. :shock:

    I was watching a repeat of the Office last night

    and Jan named her baby Astrid

    and they had a bowl for her "shower" and it said Astird lol

    Nothing tops hearing the names Porche, Mercedes and Bentley being called out at the dentists!

    Even worse is when parents feminise a male name - a girl I went to school with was called Kevina because her dad was a massive fan of the footballer Kevin Keegan!

    My cousin named his boy Xander.....had never heard that one before
    All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

    They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

    Kevina?? ugh. I know a Royelle...named after her grandfather :?

    Mercedes and Portia are all old English names though no?!!! Agreed though pretty terrible...and were they all siblings? :o

    Another good one from school....there are quite a few mexican immigrants around and a couple of years ago she had a kid named Jesus......all the locals asked her "why that boy named JESUS?!?!"

    As for you in US is John and in Alberta, CAN is Ethan.

    My friend's sister's acquaintance or something from college was named Le-Ah
    Pronounced: Le-dash-uh :lol::lol:

    Also my mom's ex's cousin down the line named his kid Fudgie. I don't think it was a nickname either...

    I guess my post was misleading....I wasn't meaning the name was odd at all....only that they other kids thought it was strange for him to be named Jesus

    I went to school with a girl named Precious...trust me...precious she was not
    Knew an old man named Costly
