Eddie broke a string during the song (which you can't really help), and then strummed one incorrect chord starting the last verse, but other than that, it rocked.

Guess you should give him a phone call and offer to teach him how to play his own song in front of millions of people.... ;)

I don't need to teach them how to play the song. I'm pretty sure they know how to play it. Doesn't mean they didn't mess it up. It happens. Are you trying to say he didn't strum the wrong chord? Go back and watch it, it's right after the "Nothing Left...." part when he goes back to the verse. It's the 2nd chord he strummed when he starts singing again.
  • That was probably the best version of "Just Breathe" I've ever heard.

I was more "meh" on Unthought Known. I think it had more to do with the audio mix than anything. TV shows just don't know how to mix rock bands anymore—it's not the same as shitty rap artists or Lady GaGa folks.
The fills from Mike and Stone are such a big part of the dynamics of the song but the SNL version just sounded mushed together.

Would've liked to hear one of the heavier tunes but oh well.

Ed sounded damn good......especially on Just Breathe...the second half of Unthought Known built up nicely, although I thought they were going to lose it at the end.

He seemed to be putting forth more effort on controlling the subtleties in his voice, which is a good thing for TV appearances.

I thought they did great on both songs...not really sure where all of the criticism is coming from...I am going out on a limb, here, and guessing they didn't have control of the soundboard.

Go listen to Ed on the 2009 boots and tell me he didn't do a better job hitting the build ups to Gems and Rhinestones and Rival, tonight, I was pleasantly surprised.

Obviously they'll be more energetic when playing in front of 10k rabid rocking fans...

I agree - he showed great control and power on these points. Very nice indeed.

Loved the performances. Was hoping for a 3rd. Maybe could've played it while credits were rolling.

OK, didn't bother reading the previous pages but ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?? You people need to just shut the fuck up and appreciate what you're given for a minute. Anyone who bitched about any of these two songs tonight is a blabbering idiot. Both songs sounded perfect. I completely agree with this Aaron guy here.

Wow that was great. Sounded so good and Ed nailed it all vocally. Unthought Known was especially good at it's normal speed - better than the slightly faster way they've previously played it live.

    Love those videos.
