Lastly, I plan on going much earlier this time which would have secured me a spot. Best of luck to all who try, and for the love of Christ, please don't let it be that bastard from Twilight be hosting. Even if I get in, I couldn't deal with the others in line for such a long time!!

What time do you think those planning on waiting standby should go from your experience?
Also second your thoughts on not wanting Robert Pattinson to host!! :D

quite possibly...also, it could be to promote the ep said they might release...it could be why the single and philly boots are delayed...they're preppy the ep for release and spring tour

  • maybe theyll play one from backspacer and one new one?? :D

i know what kat's post says... just seems like odd timing to promote an album as old as backspacer... come on new song!!!

The timing isn't that odd. Ten came out in August of '91 and they went on SNL in March '92. Versus came out in October of '93 and they went on SNL in April of '94.

Pearl Jam Return To Saturday Night Live

No strangers to SNL, Pearl Jam will revisit their friends at 30 Rockefeller Plaza for what is sure to be another memorable performance, but when when when?

Mark your calendars and/or set your TiVo’s for March 13th.

Eddie Vedder and his jammers of pearl are set to throw down some songs from Backspacer and if I had to choose which songs off of Backspacer I would like for them to play, well, I would hope for “The Fixer,” “Supersonic” or “Unthought Known.” Although quite frankly, Eddie could sing “The Thong Song” and I would be perfectly satisfied.

I probably love Pearl Jam more than I even like some members of my own family, so one might think I’m being bias when I say something like, “another memorable performance,” but I assure you that I am not being the least bit bias. They rock and they do so every single time they’re on SNL. They are without a doubt, one of the greatest live rock bands of all time. It’s a bold statement and I stand behind it 100%.

Here’s some video of PJ on Saturday Night Live waaaaay back when…

This one is old school Pearl Jam, back when Dave Abbruzzese was the man on sticks and Eddie wasn’t the most comfortable in his skin. What makes this particular performance awesome is that they tag the end of “Daughter” with “American Pie,” a tradition that Pearl Jam has kept alive at all their live shows to date.

Speaking as a crazy bastard who tried the last time they were on I can add a glimmer of hope to those joining me in stand-by. First off, people did get in (this was to the live show, not the dress) in fact I was 3 people away from getting in. Second, you have the option of choosing if you want to try for dress or live (this time I'm going for dress as I should have done last time). Far more people go for live. Lastly, I plan on going much earlier this time which would have secured me a spot. Best of luck to all who try, and for the love of Christ, please don't let it be that bastard from Twilight be hosting. this is not true. I was first inline last time they played. I slept out for two nights and did not get in. We were lined up ready to go up to the show and slowly time just ticked away and the show started. NOBODY from the stand by line got in to the live show. I still have my saturday night live ticket with the number 1 on it.

Hmm.... Maybe my memory is off. People definitely got in so maybe I DID go for the dress instead of the live show last time. Sorry for any confusion.
