The only thing worse than Dodger trolls are Seahawk trolls.

Rumor is that Samardzija is pretty much auditioning for the Giants today. I hate watching us trade all our young pitching but this is one I am all for. Move Crick and few other lessor pieces and go bet him Sabean. We will need another front line guy for the playoffs. Timmy can go back to his super sub role and Vogeslong can be the long reliever. A 1 through 4 of Bum, Huddy, Samardzija and Cain would be mighty hard to beat in a 7 game series.

Still 4 1/2 up so I think they are doing just fine. You are supposed to lose a game in which you are facing the other teams ace and you are having to go with an emergency starter who is on short rest.

I hadn't heard the samardzija (I'm taking your word on the spelling )) rumor. he's pitching great but I'd be worried about the "ex-cub curse." right now, Bummy and Huddy are the only guys I feel great about. Vogey seems to be coming around, Timmy is inconsistent and, really, the biggest disappointment is big money Cain. I thought that would be the ONE guy you could give a lot of $$ to and not live to regret it. right now, it's looking like another Zito contract. @-)

The samardzija rumor (I'm relying on my own spelling from last time) is coming from guys like Buster Olney on ESPN. Everyone knows the Cubs want to move him now while he has 1 1/2 years left on his deal and they can get max prospects back. For the Giants being linked to them I think it more has to do with Sabean's history of moving top pitching prospects for 'win now' guys than the Giants actually calling the Cubs about him. I'm not a fan of losing Crick for him but could live with it if we could get samardzija on a team friendly extension. We are watching the last trade causality in Wheeler start living up the expectations and all we have to show for it is to watch Beltran play elsewhere. The Liriano trade still pisses me off 10 years later.
