All seats are great. You will get great views there. My favorite spot is field level, right at third base. It is a great spot. Lots of foul balls. and the bathroom, the best beer and food is right at the top of the stairs.

Haha, nice. Thanks. Yeah, I was looking at the first row or two behind home plate on the upper level, can see the water and all and a great view of the game. I can't wait. Looks like an awesome stadium.

I had seats in View Box 310, row 4 for 7 years. I loved those seats and so did everyone else who ever sat there. Great view of the game and everything else. Excellent beer access to an uncrowded stand.

it's not zito money, but it's still probably too much. I hope I'm wrong...

    Late-bloomer Vogelsong gets deal

    John Shea, Chronicle Staff Writer

Ryan Vogelsong finally has some security, and he earned it.

The Giants' pitcher, who made a storybook comeback in 2011 and went 13-7 with a 2.71 ERA, has the first multiyear contract of his career: two years and $8.3 million. The deal includes a club option for 2014.

"Nice. It's good to know where I'm going to be for two years," Vogelsong said in a phone interview Wednesday night from Philadelphia after taking a physical in San Francisco and flying cross country. "I enjoy playing for the Giants. It's where I want to be. I feel I connected with the fan base. We have a team that can be in contention.

"Obviously, with the way my career was going, I never thought financial status like this would ever happen, so it is life-changing. Will it change me as a player? No."

Vogelsong, 34, was out of the majors for four seasons before returning to the Giants and becoming one of baseball's best feel-good stories, earning an All-Star berth and winning the Willie Mac Award as the team's most inspirational player.

The Giants' fifth-round pick in 1998, he was traded to Pittsburgh in 2001, played his final game with the Pirates in 2006 and spent three of the next four years in Japan.

Will Giants fans see a similar Vogelsong in 2012? "Performance-wise, I certainly hope so," he said. Asked if he could top or equal his 2011 performance, Vogelsong said, "The best way to top or equal it is to not try to do it. The only thing I can control is how I prepare myself."

Both Vogelsong and the Giants - convinced the right-hander wasn't a one-year wonder - were open to a multiyear deal. Vogelsong will accompany Tim Lincecum, Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner in one of the majors' premier rotations.

Vogelsong's signing leaves the Giants with seven arbitration-eligible players, including Lincecum and Pablo Sandoval.

The Giants and Tim Lincecum’s people have exchanged arbitration figures. According to Jon Heyman at CBSSports.com, Lincecum is seeking $21.5 million and the Giants have offered $17 million, which break the records for the most money sought and offered in arbitration for a player not yet eligible for free agency.

In 2001, Derek Jeter asked for $18.5 million from the Yankees, who offered $14.25 million. They never went to a hearing, but rather settled on a 10-year, $189 million contract.

We just got off the phone with vice president of baseball operations Bobby Evans, who said, “I’m overall optimistic we can find common ground without a hearing room.” And given the numbers that they exchanged, there is reason for optimism. that spread is even smaller than in 2010, when Lincecum and the Giants were $5 million apart.

When I asked about the enormousness of the numbers we’re talking about, and how he feels when he jots those numbers down, Evans said, “I usually leave off the final three zeroes because it’s easier to calculate on an Excel spreadsheet.”

There is still plenty of time for the Giants and Lincecum to work out a deal, long term or short term. Hearings will be held in Florida starting Feb. 1. Two years ago, they agreed to a two-year deal while sitting in the hearing room waiting for the arbitrators to arrive.

In the past two days, the Giants reached agreement with arbitration-eligible players Angel Pagan ($4.85 million), Melky Cabrera ($6 million) and Santiago Casilla ($2.2 million). They almost certainly will reach deals with three other arb guys, Sergio Romo, Nate Schierholtz and Pablo Sandoval, some as early as today.

Evans also reiterated that the Giants are probably done signing players to big-league contracts. Any starters or outfielders they bring in would be on minor-league contracts with spring invites, a la Ryan Vogelsong last year. He mentioned former Atlanta Brave Gregor Blanco, a minor-league invitee, as a possible outfield candidate.
