Oh Lord...
That posting was the most convoluted mash of misuse of logic... it really sounded like the Unabomber wrote it.
I read some of the other 'messages' and that place is a prime example of the basis of why people get irritated with most Christians.
I don't care if you are Christian or Jewish or Muslim or Buddhist or aetheist... that's your choice and peace be with you. I would give the same arguements if it were a Jew, telling me Judaism is the way... or a Muslim with Islam. I would reject them all... for me. The religion may fit them... but, just not me.
...
Thanx for pointing out the source.

Is plagerism a sin?
I never said I wrote all that. You dont care what religion someone is but you point out how ridiculous it is that they believe it. Throwing out your points on why we should buy into your secular view. Several of you guys secular beliefs really dont seem to be that tolerant.

You saying that what I believe cant be an absolute truth is a relative truth in itself.

Sorry... but, no.
I am looking for the absolute truth to the question, "Is God out there?"
The absolute truth is either yes or no or we don't know. From our perspective in this life... the truth is... we don't know.
You saying, you BELIEVE there is a God... is a truthful statement.
You saying, you KNOW there s a God... is not a truthful statement.

You will have to direct me to the part where I say people are ridiculous in their religious beliefs, because i am pretty certain i never said that.
I know what I believe... that Faith and Hope are good qualities of the human spirit. I don't care if other people follow religions... I simply say that religion is just not for me. not Christianity, not Judaism, not Islam. And I never pit them against one another because my (personal) belief is, God loves us all and does not choose teams. He does not choose Christianity over Judaism, Judaism over Islam or Colts over Saints.
I don't see how I am the intolerant one when I am the one saying that people should embrace their faith... and quit worrying about everyone else's faith... including my lack of faith. I do believe there are many paths that lead to God... some on the freeways of religion... some on quiet dirt paths through the mountains... some on no roads at all. And yes, i reject anyone who claims their way is the only way. That line of thought omits people who do not accept their way. I believe God is greater than religions created by Man... and that no one religion has cornered the market on God's love.

This is from Matthew 28:
"In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me."
Mark also spoke of Mary Magdalene and Mary, mother of Jesus as the witnesses.
...
So... unless Jesus had One Mother and 499 girlfriends named Mary... I'm going to go with 2 witnesses.
...
Also... Mary Magdalene was a true WITNESS to the resurrection... where is the testament of Mary and why isn't it in the Bible?
...
Lastly... Why does Matthew refer to Mary Magdalene and the "other Mary". She was Jesus' mom, fer Christ's sake. You'd think she earned the respect to be called "Jesus' mom" or Mrs. Christ or something... right?
...
This is from Luke 24:
"It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles."
Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Mary, mother of Jesus... and 497 other women? That's the only way to make it 500.

Which prompts the question... why did the stone door need to be rolled away? Couldn't Jesus just pass through it? Or was He resurrected in His human body. If the latter was true... isn't that called a 'zombie'?

He appeared to all the disciples. If you want to play the numbers game that is 11. Tomas in disbelief had to put his hands in the scars. He appeared on the road to strangers and to crowds. The other Mary wasn’t Jesus' mom. I doubt Jesus' mom would hang out with a younger former prostitute.
Women of that day weren’t even able to testify in courts. They were looked at like they are today in most of those cultures. So if this was a big fabrication why would the writers choose to put 2 women as the key witnesses? Why would they label themselves disbelievers? Why not embellish the story and make it more grand than it really was? Because they were witnesses to events not myths.
Jesus' mom and brother James constantly doubted what Jesus said about himself being the messiah. They called him "insane". Neither of them believed until they saw his resurrected being. Like I said delve into it more before you make assumptions.
Take Paul previously Saul the writer of most of the books/letters in the New Testament He cursed the entire embodiment of Jesus and yet he saw and became a believer and one of the most influential apostles of his time. Why give up his ranking in the Jewish community for a life of servitude Ultimately being sentenced to prison and death if what he believed wasn’t so overwhelmingly true that he was willing to give his whole earthy being up?

They are separate eyewitness accounts. That gives them more credibility. If it was false and made up don’t you think they would all have got together and corroborated to come out with the same story? Look at any news story today. You can go to 3 different sites and find the same meat of a story with three different accounts. If they would have all been the same exact story you still would accuse them of fabricating it.

There seems to be a lot of people willing to give up their lives for other religions, too. Does that give their religion factual credibility, too?
What are they giving their lives up for? Virgins for reward in heaven? Better Karma? These men were giving up their lives to get the story out that you are separated from God. That you need Jesus to know God. A definite bit difference there. Men die for selfish motives (virgins, killing infidels, better karma) while these men die for selfless motives, to let you know you can know God. With this you consider them liars and ignorant fools when they did it on YOUR behalf. These are the things that separate Christianity from other religions. Which have the false motives here?

again, judgment. what you consider selfless, others might consider selfish, and vice versa. You will just never get it.
one other thing. you know what police consider the least reliable form of evidence in any case? EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS, which is what you are basing your entire faith on. That's one giant mozza ball hangin' out there, don'tcha think?
I'm outta this. It's been a colossal waste of time.

So if there are Muslims that have died in the promotion of their faith, aside from the Virgins thing, this would add credibility to Islam?

You have to look at the foundation of how Muhammad spread his religion. People weren’t buying it until he started his conquest. War spread his religion. Love and selflessness spread Christ’s. This sounds more like a loving God to me than all other teachings.

How am I being an asshole? By getting passionate about your attempts to debunk my beliefs? "I said my god man think!" <--what an asshole statement of me to make i apologize. I didn’t call you son of satan, in reply to your Ted Kazanski reference of me when you threw out your attempts to debunk the bible. You don’t agree with Jesus' teachings, not mine or anything I say.

It was rolled away so people could see inside. My God think man!
They cant win with your will in place.

"With our thoughts we make the world"
There's that typical Christian assholiness coming through, again.
If you are not going to answer my questions without getting shitty... then, please, place me on your ignore list.
...
This is my usual grievence with Christians... it is Not with God... or Jesus... or Christianity, itself. it is with most of the Christians i have tried to have a reasoned debate with. I can count on 1/2 of one hand... the number of Christians whom haven't reverted to this behaviour... and trust me, i have tried to have my questions answered by a lot of Christians.
Hail, Hail!!!
That’s that. I see the typical secular lost soul assholieness coming through again. I'm going to throw my arms up and ask you to put me on your ignore list. Who is the hypocrite who cant handle debate here?
