Seattle needs to get a few 55 gallon drums of Bret Boone Cream & Clear Tonic. It has the ability to turn an average second baseman into a force of nature.

Jerry manuel was doomed from the start. I actually liked manuel but felt he shouldn't been named manager seeing as how he was part of the previous managers coaching staff.

    Thanks for your service...

    Bob Melvin (2 yrs, 2003-2004)
    Mike Hargrove (2 1/2 yrs, 2005-mid 2007)
    John McLaren (1 yr, mid 2007-mid 2008)
    Jim Riggleman (1/2 yr, 2008)
    Don Wakamatsu (1 1/2 yrs, 2009-mid 2010)
    Daren Brown (1/2 yr, 2010)

Eric Wedge has the helm now and is here to do something that the six of you were unable to do? :?

Keep in mind this is all post our decade-long Sweet Lou era!

To be fair; Grover walked out on us midway through the 2007 season...though some have speculated that he was forced out due to a conflict with Ichiro. And, Riggleman & Brown were only interim managers who were not offered the full-time gig when the next manager was selected. But still, Wedge is our SEVENTH manager since Lou Piniella left. We're clearly still trying to find his replacement. Will that be Wedge, or will Wedge's name be added to that list in a year or two?

Yeah, I was quite stunned that Bobby Valentine didn't get the job. That's who I was hoping for too. Wedge has had two 90+ winning seasons, but overall has a losing record and has never gotten his team to the World Series.

not even given him an interview really made me question what jack z and the ownership is thinking

maybe wedge can turn things around with the young group of players the m's have

Yeah, no doubt! Very happy for King Felix!!

And we M's fans needed this just a little....what a rough year, and even worse ending with the passing of our beloved Dave Niehaus. Having Felix Hernandez win this most coveted pitchers award after the year we've all jsut suffered through, makes it all a little better!!!

    Congratulations, King Felix!!!

    March 13th, Spring Training.

My hope now is that he does something so tragic (like felony threatening someone) and get convicted and that somehow gets us out of his $12 million contract this year.

Lee was never going to stay here. And, he was never going to be a Yankee either. The whole time he just wanted to get back to the Phillies.

King Felix on the other hand, not only wants to stay here and help build the (albeit hapless) organization, but he signed a long term deal with the team. Sorry, the King stays put.

Is there a new M's thread somewhere?

Aaaaaanyway, I'm headed out to Seattle for vacation in mid-July. We're hitting up the ballpark for the Sunday game against Texas. Anybody have any tips or stuff I should try out there?

Anything helpful about the city in anyway would be great.
