    Good win today!

I can see them clawing back to .500, but they lack so much in so many places that I can't see much more than that.
I really wish we had a real shortstop. Not to take anything away from Castro's bat, but his D is miserable! If they Cubs somehow land someone else, I would love to see him play 2nd!

Projected finish for Mr. Menstrual Cramps Zambrano??

    5-10

But yeah...He is pitching out of this world...
Too bad it wont last..The Miami heat, his menstrual issues, his anger management issues.....
It should all come to a BIG CRASHING END by August 1st.

    Read this today...

Ryan Dempster has made history already this year. According to STATS, he has the lowest ERA (1.02) since 1921 through 5 starts without recording a win.

Can you imagine IF Zambrano was in the same situation? I'm pretty sure he'd actually murder someone!

WOW! Fuck Ricketts, that hypocritical fuck. You can throw $10 mil into a slanderous political ad, yet you still want money from taxpayers to pay for the stadium and team you bought? FUCK YOU! I hope you don't get a fucking penny in tax payer money you fucking asshole. Your family earned their money scamming and ripping off people. It appears he is getting blasted for this, as he rightfully should. Again, FUCK HIM!!!

Sad day... poor Woody. I mean... he never lived up to potential, but still - seemed like a good guy and he was a PJ fan. Two good qualities!

So long, Kerry Wood -- at least you retired before you arm fell off!

Can't believe he is only 34. Great guy and it's too bad his career didn't end up like it should have. Really enjoyed having him on the Yanks for a couple months and he seems like a really good guy.

Definitely one of the good guys. Sounds crazy, but I think one of the worst things to happen to him was that 20K game when he was 20 years old....expectations were through the roof after that. Even with all the injuries, it was nice to see him have success as a reliever late in his career.

Absolutely, a very underrated reliever career too. He was great for the Yanks in the back half of 2010. His numbers in 1998 were insane. Definitely crazy expectations.

Sad to see Woody go. Definitely a good guy and teammate and a Cubbie through and through. Glad he gets to retire a Cub.

Sounds like he is going to be available out of the bullpen today for one last game. Think they're gonna put him in?

Hopefully he can blow one last game. That would be good for me.

I doubt they'd put him in for a serious situation, but if the game gets out of hand, I'm sure they'll put him in for at least a batter.

Someone call coach Thibs! Tell him this is what happens when you push your young talent too hard.

Kerry Wood and Mark Prior could have been the best duo in history.........but their manager ran them into the ground at a young age.....

Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah next?????????
  • 8181 Posts: 58,276
if i was him, i'd hang around for the entire series. :fp:

    what are you talking about

Noah rolled an ankle stepping on somebody's foot. happens all the time in the nba.

Rose popped a knee...which also happens in sports fairly often.
