Seeing as how there's lots of rumored dates for other venues, maybe they are adjusting things.

Seeing as how a thread about ACL on VH1 shown 3 days go is still stickied, the thread about the missing guy from several years ago is still stickied, and a thread from last spring about Rockband is still stickied... but the JazzFest was unstickied and is more timely than all three of those, this may be an indication about something.

Have there been any rumors about the band or members playing at any late night club shows?

  • Grids being released this afternoon at Noon CT. Let the time conflicts ensue (unless of course you are only going on Saturday for Pearl Jam).
  • Well I was hoping to get to see Jeff Beck, but guess it just wasnt to be.

Very awesome, crazy to see how early they get done. I don't think I've ever seen them during the daytime (outside of Bridge School). Should leave plenty of time to explore the French Quarter that night.

That's the good and bad side to Jazz Fest. They're limited to two hours and they'll be finished while the sun is still up... but... that leaves more time for the Quarter.

Either way you cut it, Pearl Jam + New Orleans = total awesomeness.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.
  • It really is part of what makes Jazz Fest so awesome. When the fest ends each day at 7, everyone goes and eats and gets a little rest before heading out and hitting up the night shows. If visiting New Orleans for the first time, don't limit yourself to the French Quarter. Catch some of the hundreds of night shows if you get a chance. The 2am shows at Tipitinas that end around 6:30 are perfect for Jazz Fest. Gives you just enough time to take a little nap before getting back out to the Fairgrounds for another day.

thanks for the info. Luckily, I spent a summer there a few years ago and one of the women I'm going with lived there for 4 years, so we've been able to explore, but everyone only wants to hit up the quarter this trip. They're craving food and alcohol and people. I tried unsuccessfully to convince them to go to aftershows, but no such luck. I think it'll be impossible to have a bad time regardless of what we do. Thanks again.

I have 2 online tickets (any day pass) from Ticketmaster for New Orleans Jazz Fest 4/29-5/2.

I paid $112.80 total and will take best offer or give them to you. I cannot go as my brother is very ill and I'm taking care of him at home.

I'm not sure how I can get the tickets to you. They are sitting in my online account and Ticketmaster would NOT refund, even due to my circumstances. They may be non-transferable. Would anyone know? I can't find the fine print.

    PM me if interested.

    Peace,

Yeah, kinda lame that the acts I wanted to see are all at the exact same time as Pearl Jam. Ugh. Oh well, I am honestly just going there to see Pearl Jam anyway, the other acts were just an added bonus.

Considering the R.E.M. guys just made a surprise appearance in New Orleans at a Patti Smith show according to R.E.M.s website and Rolling Stone (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/;kw=[13193,135430]), I wouldn't be stunned if we saw them onstage with Pearl Jam at some point during the jazzfest performance. My fingers are crossed.

Yeah, I was excited to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd, but that ain't happenin'. That's why I usually avoid festivals. Oh well.

I have an extra ticket. One single day for the weekend of April 29, 30, May 1 or 2nd. General Admission.

45 bucks or trade for a single ticket to Hartford, Boston or possibly Newark. I'm in central/south Florida about an hour south of Melbourne. I know it's a bit late, but ticket should take only 2 days in the mail. If you live nearby, maybe you could pick it up. I'll be checking my PMs and this thread many times today.
I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened.
