rather have buncha players that have heart and play with balls and a payroll under 100 than a team with a diva who barely plays and a team that cant play basic baseball and a payroll at 140 mil. I can't wait for the season to start and am very optimistic bout winning the wild card. I'd love for Kazmir to be our 5th starter.[/quote]

Just a little pre-season razzing that's all. I don't really mean nothing by it.

Whoa - someone is delusional. Your team is going to have a tough time finishing 4th in the NL East.

As a Mets fan back from the mid-80's(glory days), this season is going to be dreadful, but its something that needed to happen for a long time now. Its time to start drafting players and letting the younger ones gain experience through playing at the top level. Take your punches and keep plugging along.
The Mets would be lucky to finish 3rd in the division. I do believe that they should sign Kazmir, as it would not hurt in the least.
The organization absolutely must figure out what to do with the ownership. I wish the Wilpons would sell, as to finally seperate the club from all the Madoff drama. They need a buyer with some money to spend, and a GM to do it wisely, while retaining youth. No more Steve Phillips and Omar Minaya hatchet jobs.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

I just read that the pre-sale password for the Mets was "Hodges", someone who played for the Mets for 2 years at the end of his career. Stop trying to cop the Dodgers rich history as your own.

What a completely worthless organization in every possible way.

carlos beltran on his former team's current situation:

“You have to be a little frustrated for the fans, knowing probably the team isn’t going to be what the fans really want to see out there. But at the end of the day, they have prospects, players who are going to be good one day. But when that day’s going to be, only God knows.”

best part is that they really only have 2 decent prospects (harvey and wheeler)

the mets are screwed for a while.

I love these shirts, in particular:

I awoke from a magical Easter weekend coma, having dreamt the Mets took all three games from the Braves and began the 2nd week of the season alone in 1st place.

    Silly me. That's just ludicrous.

They've done a nice job so far. It'd be nice to see them keep it up so New York can have two teams in pennant races this year. It's always more fun that way.
