In 2000, Red Hot Chili Peppers did a show with Pearl Jam in Seattle.

Do you have any idea what kind of a blood-bath it would be to try getting tickets for something like that??? But yeah, I'd be down with it :D

    aic opening for pj?

let's not get too far ahead of ourselves...let's wait and find out some tour dates before we start making any opener assumptions.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

Makes sense since they just announced a Toronto show last week. I would be very surprised if Edmonton was included in the 2010 tour itinerary for PJ, but stranger things have happened....

    Hey I didn't start the thread :D

I just mentioned that a local radio station had a huge concert announcement and made a Cobain reference...to which I completely don't understand :?

Maybe the link was the fact that Kobain is dead, just the like the days when Muse actually made good music ...

nope, not really...years ago, BG, they made the playoffs, had white outs, ALWAYS sold out games with crazy ass jersey wearing face painted fans. Now, you go to a game, and it consists of bored, dressed up people in corporate seats and you can hear crickets.

Thank GOD he got fired as coach...they are doing much better now.

I just got official confirmation that anything I say in this post is not confirmed.

Wow ... now that's a contradiction! Saying the NHL is stupid and then giving an emphatic "LET'S GO PENS!!!!" ... are the Pens not an NHL team? Funny ...

    BTW ... GO STARS!!!!

After prodding some people in the know, all indications is that there will not be any sort of US tour announcement in the days/weeks to come.

My best guess would be PERHAPS some news in January of a Spring mini-tour prior to heading out to Europe. It wouldn't surprise me (and would actually be very PJ-like in terms of timing) to have a handful of shows announced in January and an immediate 10C pre-sale, with the shows taking place in late March/April/early May.

The only decently strong rumor I am hearing is of a festival show in California, which could only mean Coachella. This would make sense because (a) Coachella would have already signed most (all?) of the big headliners, since they need to get their line-up shored up months in advance; (b) there are bound to be some people in the Coachella loop who are unable to keep their lips sealed, thus allowing an information leak; (c) it would not be out of the ordinary for PJ to warm up for some of the European festivals with a US festival beforehand. Plus, PJ have been doing a lot of festivals in the past few years, and Coachella remains one of the few big ones they have yet to play.

Other Coachella rumors are flying though, including near-confirmed word of Gorillaz, the Rolling Stones, and Muse...along with fairly strong rumors of the Beastie Boys, the Arcade Fire, Pavement, and Smashing Pumpkins. Oh, and Devo has already been confirmed. :D It would be interesting to see what slot PJ would get if all the rumors were true and they were sharing the weekend with those bands.

Well Cochella announced their dates already- so I would assume the bands will be announced late January, early February.
