shhhhhhhhhh...i have this friend in the (food) "industry" (some guy who works at KFC who sold Boom a 3pc meal) who told me he asked a band member (Boom) if they were going to tour this year in the states....and Boom said...i shit you not.."ERRMMMMFFF"....now...you could say that he had a mouth full of mash w/gravy and wasn't really responding to the question.....but my friend....with years of listening to people talk with a full mouth assures me it means "full east coast tour" this year....now take that extra crispy tid-bit how ever you may....but i'm rolling my pennies now in anticipation!!
yeah i heard that too.... that may be the only legit rumor on the board!
Sorry guys, but a tour announcement is not coming this week. The band is nowhere near finalizing anything in terms of a tour.
I have said this since the beginning: you all are getting worked up for nothing, and setting yourself up for disappointment.
I'm not trying to be a downer, just indicating what I know. And people who know me on here can attest that when I say I know something, I do.
Be patient and wait for January to roll around for news of a *few* scattered U.S. dates.
speculation and buzz is fun....no disappointments or getting worked up. if it happens this week, great....and if it doesn't, but happens in january.....great too! if it doesn't happen at all, sure...some disappointment, but yea, amazingly, i have a life beyond pj and i will quickly get over it. (or buy tix to nawlins )
this thread has gotten 12,000 views and 21 pages of talk about the US Dates. i hope it's more than just 1 show that is supposed to be announced this week.

You guys are Rookie Pearl Jam fans.... Don't you know PJ ALWAYS does the following:
1) Leak some rumors about the tour
2) Deny all rumors or ignore them to build anticpation
3) Release a couple of show dates.
4) Announce ticket sales with 24hrs notice
5) Put ticket sale on Goods section
6) Crash the Goods section on purpose when it opens
7) After the sales are done, announce more shows on better dates (IE weekends)
8) repeate 5 thru 6

So true.
I've met some good people through going to far away shows that I wouldn't have otherwise traveled to see had they announced everything at once, though. So it is all gravy.

I can't agree with this. Beale Street Music Festival is not a major league US festival like the ones they've played the past 3-4 years:
Lollapalooza
Bonnaroo
Austin City Limits
JazzFest
that one in San Francisco whose name escapes me...
BSMF is not the place I'd expect to see PJ turn-up in the spring. But a Memphis show @ FedEx Forum in the middle of a Texas/SE US/Florida run in April & May.

Go to disagree with you on this. Well, with Jazz Fest especially. I'd expect to see Pearl Jam at Beale street before Jazz Fest. That was a HUGE surprise to me.
Have you seen the line up for Beale Street the last few years? MANY of the same artist play both.

I grew up in north MS, very close to Memphis, so I always watch and see who's in the lineups for BSMF. To me, they've been underwhelming lately. Especially last year.
I understand that many artists will get booked for both festivals (and used to play these two plus Midtown Music in Atlanta--when it existed) in the same weekend. But I just don't see PJ as one of them. For one reason, I don't think BSMF offers the type of money that PJ is making off these huge festival appearances. I mean, it's sponsored by AutoZone, Sam's Town Casino, and Cellular South (vs. AT&T, Dell, and Honda @ other fests).
If the guaranteed money is there, I'm sure PJ would give it some thought.
